My CPAP machine is my new best friend!!

So I have very mild sleep apnea. After a sleep study it was detemined that my oxygen saturation dropped just below normal a few times during the night. I wanted to get the study done just to see how my sleep was and if I did in fact have sleep apnea. Anyways, I can't believe how much I dreaded wearing a CPAP mask until now that I feel the difference. Holy shit, it's like night and day now!! My energy and focus is like crazy, I don't crave caffeine as much, and I'm not irritable during the day anymore. The fucking thing is like my new best friend, I love it!! Workouts have improved and I finally feel complete once again. If you think you may have a sleep issue or are constantly tired then I urge you to go through the process!!

I wear just the nose piece, I didn't want to have anything covering both my nose and mouth during sleep

Good luck man. I have a bipap and it sucks. But I have the full mask.
If youre comfortable it is a huge help though

Just out of curiosity, what is your height and weight? At 5'10" once I approach 250 I really begin developing the classic symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea. 10-15 pounds can make a big difference.

This is something that is extremely under looked in this lifestyle... If you're a bigger guy, you need to look into a sleep study. Sleep apnea will kill you if you don't get it handled.

My oxygen levels were dropping into the 50's. Spoiler alert, that's way too fucking low. Unfortunately, I didn't get the "night and day" difference from wearing mine. But at least I'm not essentially dying in my sleep every night.

Yep. 30 incidents in an hour is considered high (thats how many times you stop breathing during sleep study), mine was 127

I'm currently 232 lbs at 5'9" , make no mistake about it, doesn't always matter if it's fat or muscle. I'm a fairly lean guy and I have mild apnea. It's not bad, something like a total of 16 incidences during entire night, oxygen dropped to 85% at the lowest, doctor said anything under 90% is a cause for concern.

Obviously health is the top priority here, but I just can't help but think if gains will come from the improved sleep. I know today I was on fire in the gym, I did some biceps and something I occasionally do is 10 lbs db x 10 reps, 15 lb db x 15 reps, 20 lb db x 20 reps, 25's x 25 reps, 30 x 30 reps, and today on my last set I got to 35's x 35 reps, a new personal best for me doing that rep sequence

Even with a full-face mask, which I need due to being a mouthbreather, I rip it off after an hour or so. Guess it's better than nothing.

I'm losing mine somewhere during the night. I don't know if I'm ripping it off in my sleep or if I'm losing it somehow. But I must be wearing it awhile because I def feel more energetic so must be doing something. I guess it's gonna take time to get used to

Ive always had it, but the extra weight hurts. People don't take in to account all the problems AAS can cause besides regular sides.
Yeah that's crazy. Can only imagine the stress that puts on your heart. What was the precursor to you getting the sleep study? Just poor sleep in general?

Actually someone told me. I was on a 16 hour flight and the guy next to me told me I kept stopping breathing.

Your ripped as fuck man

Nah man, not to my standards but this is sustainable rt now. Too much going on with family and summer to be miserable and dieting every single day, but when I'm at home and it's the normal routine I'm on point day in and out. As I write this now, I'm at a waffle House with my son, lol. However, just omelette and bacon, no carbs so not too bad!!

I know someone with horrible sleep apnea who is still waiting to hear back from the sleep clinic.

Their appointment was back in October.

(The clinic doesn't even answer the phone, 100% srs. And this is in a big city. Also, one of the docs here who runs a few in my city and the neighboring ones lost his license. Wonder why.)

And docs in Ontario are no longer allowed to rx the CPAP devices themselves (I remember reading the reason why, has to do with $, no shit).

And you can't buy a device here without a script.

You're 100% right, this shit will put you in a box fast.

I'm going to be purchasing one and will most certainly not be going the OHIP route. The province can go fuck itself with a 10" diamond cock. It's not a problem now because I'm under 200lbs, but once I get over that weight it comes out strong.

Waffle House with no waffle? Blasphemy! I used to frequent WH in Alabama and lived on double chocolatr chip waffles. Of course this was what made me start training 12+ years ago.

Scattered, smothered, chunked, fucked, slackered and puckered!!! Oh yea, let.me get some of those hash browns baby!!

If I was a good looking chick I'd work there. You'd stand out like a sore thumb and probably get tipped like crazy . I bet a hot chick at the waffle House would make really good money actually

I need a Rx just to adjust the fucking pressure on my machine. Don't ask me why, most likely a way for someone somewhere to charge my insurance.

My insurance has been great though, they cover every expense. Think about that for a second... My insurance is willing to pay for every expense related to sleep apnea. That says a lot about the potential health problems that will happen if you don't get it treated... The insurance company is just trying to avoid paying for worse shit down the road but still.

The machine I have is about $1300 by itself, the other stuff adds a couple hundred to it.

The route I took was pretty quick and it still took a few weeks to go through the process. If I had chosen to do it another way it can take over a month.

Once I got the diagnosis and then had to wait to get machine it was the worst... I knew how bad it was actually getting at night and it made me scared to even go to sleep.

I developed it before I ever took AAS, once I would get into the upper 230's it would start. AAS aggravated it a lot though and made it much worse. When I get into the 230's now it doesn't go away.
