Hello, I'm 22 years old and no real symptoms (aside from depression I cured with 5-htp and waking up once a night - but only for last 2 months, mild acne since 18, costochondritis (but doc's say its not a big deal) and bit of joint pain that goes away when I stop eating GRAINS). But I feel like im living an average life health wise/hormonally/energetically overall and not OPTIMIZED, invigorated/full of energy - what I truly want. This is the motivation behind all this testing.

Here's my labs -> I'll be following up with hormone tests within a week:

2-24-12 New labs - Drawn 8:06AM

( I changed my diet from last test to now - I eat 12 eggs a day on top of my regular diet for cholesterol/pregnenolone etc. to upp test - it worked):

Testosterone, Serum - 890 ng/DL (348-1197)

Free Testosterone (direct) 16 pg/mL (9.3-26.5)

Hemoglobin A1c 5.7 HIGH% (4.8-5.6) (Im really worried about this one)

Thryoxine (t4) free, direct, S 1.52 ng/dL (0.82 - 1.77)

DHEA-Sulfate 287.7 ug/dL (211-492)

TSH (2.090) (YAY, went down!)

IGF-1 249 g/mL 116-358

Sedimentation Rate-Westergren 1 mm/hr (0-15)

Progesterone 0.7 ng/mL (0.2-1.4)

Insulin 5.2 uIU/mL (2.6-24.9)

C-Reactive Protein, Quantative Version (not Heart/Cardiac Sensitive) <0.3 mg/L (0.0 - 4.9)

Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) Ab 6 IU/mL 0-34

Triiodothyronine, Free, Serum 3.2 pg/mL (2.0-4.4)

Sex Hormone Binding Globulim, Serum 60.4 nmol/L HIGH 16.5-55.9 ( HOLY SHIT! What do I do to lower?)

-------------------

From same labset from previous lab-posting (02/24/12) 8am:

Reverse T3, Serum 28.7 ng/dL (13.5-34.2)
(recall from previous posts -> Free T3 is 3.2 pg/mL out of range 2.0-4.4)

And my bioactive T is low:

Test, % Free and Weakly Bound - 12.9% (9.0-46.0)

Test. - F+W Bound 114.8 ng/dL (40-250)

(recall my SHBG = 60.4 nmol/L out of range 16.5-55.9)

Hmm, no snoring/sleep apnea. Only symptom is waking up 3-4 hrs in - even taking melatonin time release (but thats

useless - it only lasts 3 hours - even without taking it I still wake up 3-4 hrs in). I tried taking sublingual

2-3.5mg melatonin soon as I wake up for 3-4 days. no effect really.

I go to sleep at around 11pm wake up around 8am. 9 hrs to try and offset 3 hr sleep problem and get 6 hrs

uninterrupted.

Never have any coffee at all/no drugs/no alcohol. Pretty healthy lifestyle.

Key factor maybe -> took 5-htp for 2-3 months, cured all depression. last month in, I screwed my sleep cycles by

sleeping weird times everyday for a week. (5 am, 3 am, 11pm, 5am, etc). After that I've been waking up at night

everyday for 2 months. First 2-3 weeks or so took me an hour+ to initially fall asleep. After taking melatonin that

went away. Yet I still wake up in the middle of the night. :X.

Tried everything else - trytophan, vitamins/b6/zinc, multivitamins/multiminerals (not the crap kind - the ones with

generally optimal doses instead of RDA's).

Hot shower before bed.

My theory is I screwed something after taking 5-htp. I know 5-htp -> serotonin -> melatonin. I just don't know if my

theory is right or not or how it has effected me.

GABA, Inositol were useless too.

Niacin useless.

My environment is great, cool, dark, blinders on windows. No noise.

Height -> 5' 8.333"
Weight -> 121-124 lbs (father has been quite skinny and so has mother at my age - but perhaps 10~ lbs heavier)
Age -> 22
Body fat -> Estimates usually 4-7% - pretty low body fat all my life. athletic type of body ( between ectomorph and

mesomorph - wide shoulders, slim waist but longer arms/legs). Very little facial fat.

Genetics -> Parents similar to me at their age. Except had more body fat. like 10-15%. EVERYONE on FATHER side

DIABETES. They live in India/Bangladesh -> HIGH WHITE SUGAR consumption daily.

Father side had cholesterol, my grand father died of heart attack. Some anger/aggression issues. Uncle had

depression or something.

high blood pressure history uncle

Sister - bad allergies

Mother's side - almost no health problems except for my grandmother -> diabetes old age.

Your perfectly fine! Testosterone peaks in males from 18-25. The average at your age for TT is 660, so you slightly above normal which should work to your advantage. I suggest you find some motivation.
I'll trade you any day.

I'm no expert, but you look good to me. There are people with a total testosterone of 100 around here. You are 700+, that's above average. I would kill for your numbers across the board any day. Nothing caught my eye as wayyy out there.

I wouldn't start messing with things because you have decided you might not have the super, ultra, awesome, bestest optimized values. Things only get more and more complicated.

Even people with excellent values aren't just pumped full of energy every day. Why do you think coffee is a $19 billion a year industry in the US alone...

Not to stereotype, but traditional Indian diets are loaded with wheat/sugar (carbs). Reconsider what is "healthy food" and you might notice increased energy.

*Edit - One thing caught my eye. There is no way on earth you are a male with 4% body fat. Granted its based on the person and people look different at the same BF levels, but even with completely visable abs you are probably 8-10%.
