need help, ref. comp. conn. to net

everything on my comp. is running fine. now for the second time my comp. would not link with my cable modem.
If I go to system restore, and set it to an earlier date last month, it will link back up.When it won't link up, if I look at my internet conn. it shows disabled or won't even show the icon of my cable modem and say disabled. If I click on it and say enable when it does show the icon, it won't do it.

turn your computer off...then unplug the cable modem...after about 1 minute plug the modem back in....then restart the computer


sometimes mine comp loses its IP, have to reset the modem and restart the computer

Is your cable split from your tv? You may be losing some signal if it is. If not, do what Chris said. That should do the trick. If not, call your cable company. They usually can fix it over the phone. Good luck.
