Negatives training

Iv been looking for some new training methods to break some plateus and I came across negative training. I don't have a spotter so can't do it where I put a huge amount of weight on and have him lift it. Is it still considered negative training if I use a weight I can lift as long as I focus on the eccentric portion for at least 3-5 seconds as opposed to just lowering it at a normal pace? I don't if I'm making sense but hopefully somebody understands me.

You will have a hard time doing negatives on the heavy compound movements without a partner but on simple movements you should have no problem. I find negatives more effective on those simple concentrated movements anyways.

You could look into drop setting and static strips too.

You can do negatives on a smith machine if you don't have a partner even though it promotes terrible form.

doing slow negatives wont make you big just really sore..theres also science that shows slow heavy negatives can actually split muscle fibers although the verdict is still out on that..

negative part of the movement builds most of your muscle. you do not need a partner to do negative, just go slow with the weight you can do by yourself.

i love negatives and notice it helps to build strength when i do pl lifts. i always have a partner though because if im fatigued id hate to be stuck under the bar!

I dont have a partner and tt sucks having to ask strangers for a spot. Im very picky in that I don't like lift offs and I fucking hate it when they ride the bar on my sets. I usually ask dudes that look like they know what's up, but sometimes I get a fucking tard.
