Hello all, I've been lurking for a bit and recently registered. I'm 50 and have decided that its time to try and delay the declines that I'm starting to notice. I signed up for a TRT program, one that was not completely dismissed here, so that I can find ways to navigate TRT under the guidance of an MD/DO/NP before venturing off on my own.

Goals:
- I want functional strength and more resiliency especially as I age. I'm an old father and want to be able to keep up with my 7yo girl and my wonderful wife.
- I have few issues so far with blood pressure, cholesterol, or other things. I want to maintain that as long as possible.
- I need to lose body fat and want to do that through strength training again. An injury and subsequent surgery impacted that significantly, as well as a job that I allowed to demoralize me. Left that job, started my own thing and emotionally, financially, and relationally doing better than I had in many years. Now it's time to get the body close to where it was in my late 30s.

Got my initial bloodwork finished and am learning what the numbers mean going forward. I'm a reader and will ask some questions, but don't typically engage in much banter. I've been using Tirz for about a year and lost 40lbs and am now transitioned to Reta and am at 6mg/wk.

Current peps:
Reta 6mg weekly
Cag 0.50mg weekly
MIC-B12 1ml 2x per week
NAD+ 25mg 2x per week (beginning cycle)

Interested in learning how Test C will impact my HDL/LDL and how my body responds to amoritization (increased estradiol as a result of test, right?). Also interested in stacking and how to utilize this wealth of knowledge to my benefit. Glad to see that there's a 40+ subforum and hopefully will be able to get some good insights from that crew.

All the best.

What are your current stats?

Hight
Weight
Diet
H: 6'4
W: 260
Diet: very limited red meat, sugar; too much bourbon at times; enjoy making homemade bread; eat out 1-3x per month, grilled not fried; protein intake is 1g/1lb of body weight (poultry, whey, beans, nuts); limited dairy

Not bad, bourbon and bread are tough on the waist line. When you get your blood work in post it up here.

The wellness clinics in my area will prescribe you a large dose of Test. My doctor started me at 200 2x a week Test Cyp. Which if you read here is quite high for TRT.

You don't have to inject it all if your doctor starts you that high (mine uses capped numbers) so my blood work is always >1500 dosing half of my script.

I prefer 2x a week dosing so I'm not riding a rollercoaster, some doctors or at least another posters on a different forum has him coming into the office 2x a month for Test Cyp injections which in my opinion is insane and probably just a money scam but he lives in Pennsylvania I live on the Gulf coast.

Hi, welcome.
I am happy to see people joining to improve their health for their family. Always good to see.
Tons of info here, more than a life time of info. Research and ask away, I am sure lots will gladly help.
Happy new year!

I'm in Georgia, but am using an online TRT group as my PCP doesn't believe that TRT is a worthwhile avenue to pursue. I'll be looking for a new PCP as I'm not a fan of hiding health info from my PCP. We should be working together IMHO.

I agree on the bourbon and bread, nasty yet tasty combo.

Test: 243 ng/dL (low)
Estradiol: 27 pg/mL
FSH: 3.9
LH: 1.9
LDL: 108 (high)
LDL/HDL Ratio: 1.7

Everything besides LDL and Test are WNL. What else is valuable/default to provide?

I will and thank you! I'm looking forward to the journey. Feeling fortunate to have what I have for the family and don't have to worry about having more kids, which is a wonderful feeling.

All the best to you!

Quick question, what does it mean to be a "high aromitizer"? I read in the Meso wiki about:

Testosterone/estradiol ratio is dependent on amount of aromatase enzyme and tends to be characteristic of the individual, though it can change with time.

Is a high armoitizer someone who experiences increased estradiol levels when test is introduced?

Yes. Normally its associated with high bf level.

Have you gotten your test levels checked? I am a strong believer and advocate for all men should get it checked.
If its low, TRT along with that Tirz would aid you so much in fat loss and quality of life.

Edit Im a dummy i forgot the first sentence of your message lol

No worries, I'm almost (tomorrow) to the 6mg Reta where it begins to be most effective, plus the Cag for addressing food noise halfway through the week.

Test: 243 ng/dL (low)
Estradiol: 27 pg/mL

With that being said, should I assume that an AI would be a need right away? I'm not sure about which to choose as there doesn't seem to be a consensus of any kind.

If you go through a clinic, they sre prolly auto going to give you ai control.
You can read up here on high e sides and feel out if you get them, youll notice before any gyno starts.
Essentially you have asin (if I spelled it right) and adex.
Asiin is more forgiving, adex completely annihilates estrogen from my pea brain understanding
I use adex only because thats what my doctor prescribes. I would use asin if i had the choice tbh. but do your research.

I'm starting through a clinic so I'll ask. If they recommend arimidex, I may look into finding aromasin as I do prefer to have more control.

I would hold off on taking any AI unless necessary. Me personally didn't need any even at higher doses of Test but everyone responds differently. I would stick to the KISS method and only change things if you're feeling sides effects. It'll make it easier to dial in what's optimum for you.

Not sure if this will help you at all, but I had a great TRT experience with Dr David at Rise2Health in Portland, OR. I live across the country and it worked out very well doing it over the phone.
