I've been on multiple boards throughout the last 18+ years, but frequent few these days due to time restraints. However, I see that this board offers information that is not available on others. Thanks for accepting my request to join and hope to learn and add to the information here.

I'm around 40 and just trying to regain my health after basically losing it due to severe stress in my life over the past 5-6 years. I'm training and dieting to undo/reverse damage and get back to feeling good. I am 6' at around 200lbs right now at approximately 11% BF. Just a couple of years ago, I was 40 lbs heavier with heart issues, very high hypertension (while on TWO BP meds), Metabolic Syndrome....pre-diabetic, and close to stroke/heart attack. It has been a challenge trying to get back to good. My goal is to get to around 8% bodyfat and gain maybe 10-20 more lbs of muscle. I have arthritis in my back and left hip, I'm getting older so no real point in trying to get too much bigger....just makes life more painful. I started training when I got out of HS at 6' 115lbs so I'd say I've come a long way:). I just want to be muscular, lean and physically fit enough to have good training sessions, hike, travel, etc. The older I get, the more importance I put on general health overall. I didn't think about it much when I was younger, I just wanted to get big/ripped and date hot chicks...lol.

Thanks for the welcome guys

Stress causes more health related issues than most people realize. Don't take life so seriously. Staying positive helps bring about positive change, circumstances, and events into your life. Have you ever tried yoga or tai chi? These practices help raise our overall energy levels and guess what? We ARE energy. Just some thoughts. Welcome to Meso
