On the dieting edge, about to jump

I keep battling myself on diet and body goals, jumping back and forth between cutting and gaining.
I'll be 40 in July
5'7"
178
About 10-12%bf (tested with caliper)
4th week of testP/trenA cycle

Was dieting under maintenance and loosing to fast but getting cut.... but I'm not competing so I'm thinking why diet like I am?
Think I'd rather just keep on trying to put lean size on, stay lower on the BF side but not stress on shredding. At 40 what's the real need?
Through a few various TDEE calculators seems that I'm at about 2800 to maintain.(some were as low as 2500, others high as 3100) 2800 seem a good starting point. I'll just watch my macros, looking at:
P- 35% (245g)
C- 40% (280g)
F- 25% (78g)

I'll adjust as needed, most liking raising totals by 100g overall as I see needed.

Thoughts? Opinions? Corrections?

I would try lowering protein a bit to around 200g or so and raise the carbs to keep the same deficit.

I second what Doc says here we are very similar size, my TDEE is slightly higher but I go for something like this with your current TDEE

For bulking / maintaining
Protein 210g
Carbs 350g
Fats 90g

For cutting
Protein 220g
Carbs 300g
Fats 75g

Both are just starting points adjust the carbs as neccasary to lose or gain

Sounds about where I'm at too, 5'8, 185 and creeping up quickly...

That's my exact stats 5'8 185lb TDEE 3300-3500 (active lifestyle) around 12-14%bf visible abs

That's my issue with these tdee calculators... I found mine to be about 2800, I'm 1" shorter than you and 7lbs lighter yet it's 500/700 difference??

TDEE calculators are useless IMO find your BMR that's fairly consistent then from there it's your activity level. I have a physical job, then I either go mountain biking or rock climbing then I go for a 2 hour workout. That 500-700 calorie difference is from my rock climbing or mountain biking usually.
