Ok I'm not having any luck getting this bitcoin shit done and I'm looking for the simplest way to send some funds here so can't I just walk up to a bitcoin atm with cash and receivers wallet address in hand and type in his info, insert cash and be done with it?

Thanks.

I don't think it can work that way... You need to verify your identity. It would definitely not be the simplest way of sending funds.

Get some bitcoin from the ATM and send it to the source... It's not that hard.

Ok, but in order to do that don't I need a smart phone? I have a flip phone and would rather not have to go buy something new just to do bitcoin. Thanks.

It would probably be a lot easier if you did... But you could just write down the wallet code and enter it into the ATM. Or you could print off a piece of paper with the QR Scan Code. It looks like a square barcode. I'd opt for the barcode so you don't mess up entering it...

Ok so buy coins and have the machine print me out the QR scan code and then use that code to send the funds? I'd still need to manually type in the address for the recipient, but I can do that no problem.

No...

  1. Get a bitcoin wallet.
  2. Print out a copy of the QR code. It'll also have your wallet address on that paper I believe.
  3. Go to bitcoin ATM.
  4. Follow the prompts, verify your identity.
  5. Buy the coin. Either scan the printed off barcode or enter the address, the latter being a complete pain in the ass and will probably result in human error.
  6. The coin will be deposited into your account shortly thereafter.
  7. Send the coin to your source from your wallet. Buy more coin than you think you need.
That's really as simple as I can make it and I'm still leaving some stuff out I think.
