Oscar De La Hoya Apologizes to Manny Pacquiao for Steroid Allegations

Oscar De La Hoya and Richard Schaefer have apologized for suggesting that boxer Manny Pacquiao may have used performance-enhancing drugs such as anabolic steroids. De La Hoya and Schaefer are the President and Chief Executive Officer of Golden Boy Promotions. Pacquiao had filed a defamation lawsuit against De La Hoya, Schaefer, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his father Floyd Mayweather Sr. in response to the steroid allegations. De La Hoya and Schaefer have been dropped from the suit. The settlement opens the door for more fights between Top Rank fighters, such as Pacquiao, and Golden Boy fighters in the future.
