overtraining while on gear.

im in week 8 of a 12 week cycle and i suddenly felt a drop in energy/ that need to go to gym.
talking with my trainer we came to the conclusion that a lack of sleep might be the issue since diet is great and been doing good all these weeks so far, we decided to add 1 extra rest day, been working out 6x per week for the past 7 weeks almost 8 since today was shoulder day and i took the day off to rest.

any thoughts or personal exp on this?

Are you getting at least 8 hours of restful sleep? What's blood work look like? Vitamin D levels?

i have to admit sleep hasnt been good like when i started since last week around thursday its been a little low, getting 6-7 hours of sleep. i mean thursday was chest/back and when i did a superset of flat bench/dumbbell rows and after that i went for the lat pulldown and lats were so pumped up that i could get the bar down all the way so i felt ok, even the weight seems lighter but the drive is not there, took 3 hours to finish the workout when im done in 2 hours max.

Maybe pull your workouts back to 45-60mins max. Higher intensity, shorter rest time. Go in, kill that shit, then recover

i was doing great these past 7 weeks just this week since wednesday i noticed the downfall in performance and stuff.
dont like it at all, hopefully more sleep will help me get back on track, monday is week 9 of cycle and i want to finish strong.

extra day will be saturdays so ill just train mon-fri, never thought you could over train while on gear, seems a little silly to be honest lol.

Of course you can overtrain while on gear! Your training should always include plenty of rest...I’m pretty sure you grow while resting. Also, switch that routine up to keep things interesting and your muscles guessing.

I'll have another talk with my trainer on that subject , since he said to keep same workout routine

There is no good reason to change programming if it's working just for the sake of change. If it stops working or slows down drastically then change shit, until then, keep doing what's been working.

I been progressing on it just this small inconvenience, hopefully I'm ok for Monday and I can hit it good the rest of cycle

Ok let day squat is 6 sets of 15,12,10,10,8,8 and when I would do them I would complete my sets and as I went along it got harder but this week yesterday I couldn't even come close to complete any set and I knew something was not right , on my first set I did like 4 reps and then had to set the barbell down and it was only 175lbs I already did 200 for 2 reps so I'm guessing my 1rep max is like 205-210

Can you post up your age height weight cycle history and how long you've been training?

I have a very uneasy feeling about you being on a cycle, much less near the end, and you have a max squat of 210.

I was squatting 215 @ 17yrs when I was 180lbs eating hot pockets.... And my genetics are shit

Yeah, my 15 yo daughter squats 135 for reps and she's about that weight, and not on gear. :-)

And she doesn't even train squats much, despite my ongoing efforts to get her to do so.

So, as a male, if you can't even do 1 rep with 2 plates after you've trained squatting for close to 2 months, on cycle, I mean WTF?

i'm also on week 8 and been wondering how i should finish the cycle.

thinking about doing pyramid sets with high reps for most muscle groups
and low weight high rep for weak points

Keep it like you have, just train your best every time you hit the gym, today I started week 9 of 12 week cycle and last week I think I pinched a nerve or something, i felt a drop in strength and endurance, today was arm day and I couldn't curl 17.5lbs, I have no pain but I can't curl, like all the strength is gone from my right arm, I think it might be something to do with my bicep bad timing right now to get hurt

Sorry to hear that. I had a little injury a couple weeks back on my left bicep. I have a plate in that arm from a skateboarding accident from 2009. It's a little weaker than my right. But I can't do wide grip curls otherwise it's too much strain on my wrists and forearms

I have 0 pain though and 0 accidents too so it's odd
