Pain meds for tooth pain?

I'm currently using a whitening solution my dentist gave me for brightening my teeth and the pain I experience each time I use it is terrible and lasts for a long time. Tried popping a couple of Tylenol 3s and they did no good in the slightest. Any recommendations for this sort of thing?

If it makes your gums hurt, then maybe you have a mild case of Gingivitus. I would first look at the ingredients on the whitening solution and then call your Dentist to see if the pain you are having is normal from using that whitening solution.

There are some topical pastes that the dentist can give you too. I do not know what they are called, but they use them on your gums to help numb them prior to shooting your gums with Novacaine.

are you bleatching your teeth? if they get sensitive bro tell the dentist they will give ya some floride gel to put in the trays . works like a charm bro.

Had the same problem bro, you need to ask the dentist for flouride because it is probably stripping your teeth. peace.

I had the same problem with the 16% Carbamide Peroxide gel (if that's what you're using). My dentist just gave me the 10% gel and it helped a lot.

But what do dentists know?

same thing for me bud. tried 2 different off the shelf products for bleaching teeth-and both after several minutes would cause a wrenching pain in a couple teeth. VERY uncomfortable. it would come and go every couple minutes and last for a few seconds. flouride makes sense. i wouldnt try to mask the pain with pain relievers. better off talking to the dentist and getting an actual solution. JMO.
