I haven’t looked into this much, just because it seems you have to eat so much veggie
I would be interested in adding some plant based protein to my diet if effective.
Seems like you’d be lacking a couple of amino acids or such.

Seems like one could just supplement a little pea protein or the like and see how it treats you? Still keep the normal meat/diary proteins for balance as well.

That “documentary” is more entertainment than factual. So flawed.
BTW there’s a reason you don’t see guys at the top of their field or guys ascending using plant based diets. It MIGHT work to maintain, but nobody’s getting huge, immensely strong, or fucking peeled on vegan diets.
If your diet requires massive supplementation it’s probably not all that’s sound.

And trying to tell athletes it’s a superior path is at best poorly advised and at worst a giant publicity stunt aimed at revenue at the expense of those willing to listen.
If your diet requires massive supplementation it’s probably not all that’s sound. But using a few plant based sources is definitely not a bad move.
if you have a moral objection to eating meat I get it and support it. But that documentary’s “facts” aren’t facts.

Did Nate get there as a vegan? I’m not up on him. He’s an outlier if so.Not sayin you're wrong as I agree but there are guys in the top of their class such as Nate Diaz who are vegan.
I didn't design my custom protein off that documentary as Ive been doing this for months. I did it because I've watched/ read a bunch on the effects of meat and dairy on the body. The number 1 killer is heart disease and its because of the 'American diet". Also, theres a documentary (I believe its on NF) where they find diabetics and put them on vegan diets and the results are amazing.
For years we've been told vegans and vegetarians are hippie California weirdos but now studies are showing they are right. Sure, there will never be a Jay cutler vegan but we could start seeing people live a better quality of life.

as far as diabetics and lifestyle...if you go from pounding processed American food to vegan you’re going to improve drastically. But i am certain the same could be done with a balanced meat inclusive diet.
if it works for you (whoever wants to try it) that’s great. Do it. But that documentary said things that were CLEARLY propaganda and absolute garbage logic.
I don’t disagree with anyone who goes vegan. That’s a personal choice. I hate it being pushed like it was there.
Nate said in 2017 he’d been a vegan for 8 years so around a decade now. Which is his whole professional career.
Hey, it’s hard pill for me to swallow as well. I have a deep freezer full of wild game. I can’t imagine a meal without meat. With that said, momma always told me eat my veggies and I’m going to start incorporating them more into my diet.
Yes. A lot of our meat is shit. For sure.Do you think that some of the problem may come from the way we commercially raise meat? I know myself that 100 percent when I started finishing beef on potatoes and not corn the quality went way up and felt way better after eating .

my real point is if you watched the movie, didn’t research further or fact check, and went vegan, you’re a sheep. Make decisions based on more than media.
I have been a pescatarian for five years and I definitely am not missing anything by not eating meat. Well maybe clogged bowels!I definitely don’t agree with everything in the documentary but it’s very common to see vegetarian super athletes and in my opinion it’s irrelevant what diet got them where they are. What’s more important is being able to maintain at at a elite level.
lol just because they haven’t been vegan or vegetarian there whole lives doesn’t mean there hypocrites. What’s funny is body building for a aesthetic look might be one of the only sports, if you wanna call it that that eating animal flesh might be important to maintain unhealthy levels of body fat. Any other professional athletes can thrive on a plant based diet.
Meat is absolutely unnecessary!
