Power Cleans in a 5x5

I know that the 5x5 shouldn't be molested and run as layed out but I have never really done power cleans andwould like to for a while. Can I just tack them onto the monday workout or take a day of squatting out and add cleans in once a week? any thoughts.

I was afraid that was the answer. I just can't clean much weight yet since I haven't done them regularly before. I am deadlifting 315 5x5 but have started to clean at only 135. I guess those are the breaks though huh? thanks.

I don't think that'll hurt you much. Hard is hard, right?

I have been wanting to try the cleans in there also but every time around my deads keep going up some so I say one more time and then try cleans next time. So just haven't made the leap yet. Is funny though how you can pull something like 405 5x5 and then 135 cleans will wear your ass out just as easy.

I did the friday workout and replaced the rows with cleans. Man those things kick my ass, I had to drop down to 125 just to get through all my reps. It definitely worked my lower back but I think I can handle those and deads in the same week. I almost want to keep rows and just add cleans. thanks for the help everyone.
