Programmers?

Do what? You! You are a geek also?!?! Fucking outstanding!

Haha. I was running pipe in the auto plants for 25 a hour. Then I broke my back. Switched to programming the Machines as opposed to wiring them....120 a hour :)

I still farm and build machines (lots of weld and Fab and wiring). I'm still a man right??? Lolo_O

Oh yea. You're a man. I have nothing against tech guys. My back would appreciate me changing jobs to be honest. Lol

I'm just joking.... Now that at my back is healing and I am getting back up to weight.....I miss the physical work and do everything I can to spend more time working the farm. I fucking hate being stuck behind a laptop.

I hear that. My father was a banker for 40 years. I was a ranch hand throughout high school during the summer and on weekends. I would get home from work and he would want me to weld or do carpentry work or help him build a fence. Remodel rent houses, etc. He was raring to go. I wanted to drink beer and relax. Lol

I was raised in the steel belt so my father, uncles, and grandfathers all worked in steel mills. My brother still does to this day. I got out, joined the Army/Infantry, been a union worker myself. I ended up going back to college and now work from home. In the end none of this shit matters, it's just work. The ONLY thing I miss is the bullshitting and shittalking that went out during my Army and Lineman days.

That said, I dont think Ive changed a bit. Now if you'll excuse me I have a manicure appointment.

By the way, wish you the best with programming. My company offshores a fuck ton. The pay discrepancy is outrageous.

I like inteliji but have been too lazy to set it up so been using netbeans. I have visual studio but I haven’t used it, I’ve used visual studio code which kinda sucks.

I love VS Code (especially with all the language plug ins) but mostly do powershell, bash, batch, VBscript and xml configs. Python is on my list but not sure I will get there for a while.

Check out Visual Studio Community edition if you need more. Community edition has most of the stuff that the old visual studio paid version had but free for non commercial use.

VS code was the first IDE I used for python, only problem I had with it that sometimes it was slow and it was a pain running things not in the standard library, like matplotlib, not something I commonly used so not a big deal. Might give it another try, it’s still on my computer.
