protein quota?

Hello everyone, I would like to ask you this question.
I see that in America the most famous coaches (Sarcev , Neil hill , hany rambod) recommend a very high protein quota of around 4.4g/kg/ 2g/lb). Doesn't it seem excessive as a protein quota?
Excessive Kidney Load?
Thanks

The idea that dietary protein is bad for kidneys is one of the most persistent loads of utter horseshit.

Unless you have a serious kidney pathology, protein intake won't do anything. With the excess, you'll end up oxidizing it and shunting some of it back into central metabolism, but you won't harm your kidneys.

I agree that 2 g/lb is overkill. 1 g/lb is probably sufficient, and 1.5 is more than enough if you just want to be extra-sure to never have a nitrogen deficit.

I dnt know about that my kidney are fine and when I'm on a really high protien diet expecially low carbs. my piss is super foamy and stinks even when drinking shit loads of water . My wife can even smell it coming out of my pores. Cant be good long term for ur kidneys.

I achieved good results with up to 1.5gr/lb. Never went as high as 2gr's. You can always try higher ranges for a few months as it is not going to seriously harm you if you are healthy and see what happens.

Dietary protein causing kidney issues is a theory more or less behind us at that point.

Even if it were a real risk, is referencing the absolute extreme of Olympia level bodybuilding protein intakes really relevant? Do you do other stuff Olympia athletes do? Probably not.

We take risks for a goal. Risk:reward. The reward side of eating 2g/lb protein for an average Joe is probably empty so the potential risk doesn’t make sense. Just like our precontest drug use, extreme conditioning, etc.

proteins slow down digestion and create putrefaction in the intestine with all the problems that follow. Is it really necessary to stay so high in terms of quantity? Have you tried halving the amount and observed a worsening of the condition?

Upping my protein lead to the best growth period of my entire career. Anecdotal yes. All the biggest guys trying to grow go high protein. Also anecdotal.

Do I trust studies on untrained, unenhanced normies more than past and present colleagues in bodybuilding? No.

I know some NPC practitioners who use low-protein methods just as well, especially in the off-season when carbohydrate intake is very high. on average 100g of rice contains 7g of proteins, not noble proteins but with the addition of EAA they can be completed, consequently favoring the speed of digestion.
then the high protein method I agree with you is equally effective.

Perhaps a part of why they’re still in the NPC, perhaps not. I can only speak for my experience and that of peers I converse with at the IFBB and upper NPC level.

Seriously man don't fall for this high protein is bad for digestion and the kidneys BS. l have been eating carnivore for more than 8 years, so a minimum of 550 grams of protein a day. At 56 my digestion is better than its ever been, my kidneys test and function perfect, my natural test levels are around 850 and l feel and look a picture of health.

This has been my experience as well. 1.25gms/lb minimum up to 2 gms/lb across every successful bodybuilder I have ever met. NPC and IFBB.

yes, but it's a shame that the npc prolegue is the only federation that brings its athletes to mister olympia.
ifbb elite pro does not take its athletes to the olympia. I think you need to clarify a bit

Of course, I also feel like everyone is sticking to those amounts of protein. Have you ever tried keeping them lower? Have you noticed fewer results?

Thank you for asking. Yes i am below that right now, as I am trying to lose total body mass including muscle. A couple of months ago i weighed 275 lbs, i am 5'9. I currently weigh 225 and my goal is to get down to 200. This is somewhat of a catabolic cut diet. I dont eat until 2pm and do an hour of cardio in the morning and then train in the gym then eat.

That’s because elite pro is a knockoff and an absolute downgrade from the IFBB. Most elite pros wouldn’t earn a card in the IFBB. Period.

Are you really asking if we’d fix something that isn’t broken? Especially when the fact of the matter is, low protein is an extreme outlier in the biggest people on the planet?

For what it’s worth, when I talk about the IFBB and peers and such, I’m a pro. I’m not new to this. I talk to other pros every day.
