Just a warning if you decide to use the cut cap method. BE CAREFUL not to ruin your sterile field when recapping. I doubt you have sterile scissors to make the cut with so if you touch any portion of the needle with the cap you have contaminated your needle.nandro said:22ga 1 1/2 is okay. if ya scared...cut a cap about a half inch long and cap the needle. this turns it into a 1 inch so you won't drop it down to the hub when you push the plunger. i always say this after all the years of use. go with the smallest gauge possible but go deep near the bone. better blood supply with less scar tissue. if you a newbie do the 1 inchers until you get alot of scar tissue. when you get alot of crunchin when ya insert the needle it's time to go deeper where there is a better blood supply. this is the trailer trash style!! lol
