ordered some stuff via a person.. no names mentioned..! iv had them telling me i need to contact MoneyGram so they can "release" the funds to the person. Apparently they sometimes need more information for reasons behind sending the money... Is this totally fucked up situation and do not ring them? or shall i just ring on anonymous phone?? anyone has this before??

I did it in store and didn't have a problem sending the funds internationally. I have read on here where people do it online and get the phone calls regarding why they are sending money to that person but haven't seen where anyone had a problem sending it in store. Best of luck and maybe someone else can chime in if they have had them call them while sending in store.

I can't say I've ever heard of MG needing your permission to do anything. Once it's in their hands, it belongs to the person on the other end unless you retrieve it beforehand. Maybe the other person fucked up the QA part and needs another answer? Your situation sounds odd, but I've heard worse so I dunno.

That sounds like a crock of shit, I didn't have to show an Id to send mine even though I'm in the us...maybe tape a different picture over the Id when you scan it?
well yeah i have sent two previous moneygrams with no issue at all!?!?! so this is why i am rather confused why they are asking!?! do i just bite the bullet and ring them on a number that is noting to do with myself?

They just did that same shit to me last week. I called they put me in hold for 2 minutes and then approved the transfer. They didn't give a reason. I googled it and discovered if you send multiple transactions over a certain period it sends up flags in their system. Anyway I'm switching to WU for a bit.

How do they know you sent multiple transfers?
Did you send money twice in the same store at the same time? If so maybe make a transfer, go buy some groceries or something to spare some time, and get back to make the other transfer?
Or are you using your real name either online or showing an ID at the store so they know it's you again?

I had a similar situation with MG a few weeks ago. I have only used MG 2 times, both times were from the same walmart and using the same lab. The first transfer about 6mo ago was around $150-$160 to china and everything went smooth. The 2nd and last time using MG I was sending roughly the same amount as last time and everything seemed to go thru at thr store. I got an email a couple days later saying i needed to call MG to release the funds. I had to verify my name and address, and they even wanted my driver license number. I asked why and he just said it is necessary to release the money.

Maybe using the same Email lets them know it is the same person?
