Quick Routine Question

I usually just lift 3-4 days a week with each day split into Chest/Biceps, Back/Triceps and Leg/Shuolders.

However, right now I'm going through a really rough time personally and I'm otherwise getting too swamped to fit in a proper lift each workout without it feeling rushed.

So, what I'm wondering is if I can change my split so that I work out more days a week but only hit one body part each day. For example:

Monday - Chest
Tuesday - Biceps
Wednesday - Rest
Thursday - Back
Friday - Triceps
Saturday - Rest
Sunday - Shoulders/Legs

Or perhaps I could lift 5 days straight and have the weekend off? I've actually seen guys use this routine but I always assumed it was incorrect or at the very least a bit counter-productive. For example:

Monday - Chest
Tuesday - Biceps
Wednesday - Back
Thursday - Triceps
Friday - Shoulders/Legs
Saturday - Rest
Sunday - Rest

Thanks for any help/advice.

The only thing I'd change with your current routine is I'd put shoulders with chest day.

You NEED to rush your workout, this gives maximum intensity, and shocks the central nervous system , producing new strength and growth.
Around forty minutes is the time that has been shown in studies for maximum intensive weight training strength/muscle building benefits.
After this time the body starts releasing cortisone, which breaks down muscle amino's.
So get in,hit it really hard and heavy {with a planned progressive sets and reps formula}
Then create an insulin spike with your post workout meal, this will counter act any cortisone in the body and shuttle proteins and carbs in the muscles.

So if I put shoulders with chest, where do I move my back? With the biceps, triceps or legs?

Also, what about my original question regarding breaking up my routine into one body part a day (and possibly lifting 5 days in a row)?

Thanks again. :)

1 body part a day works for me, i just change up days of the week per body part and my routine every third week

Thanks, man. Forgive me if I seem a little slow, but what exactly do you mean by "i just change up days of the week per body part"?

I change from doing Chest on Monday to Friday / Arms Tues to Thursday / Or I just Change the start day of the Week Always keep them guessing

TOM PRINCE TRAINING SPLIT

Wednesday: Biceps, abdominals
Thursday: Shoulders, Rear delts
Friday: Triceps

Thanks again, everyone. BILLYGRINGO, I know exactly what you mean, now. Rotate the the body parts in the order every now and then.

Jasthace, when I first started lifting I always used to do chest and shouders together. After a while, abunch of people told me I should either be doing Chest and Biceps, Chest and Back or Chest and Triceps so I've been using those splits ever since.\

role model, Prince's splits look great. 7 days a week, but really specific targeting. Awesome stuff.
