Ok I've been running 5x5's for the last 11 weeks now and my lower back is being murdered. I first thought maybe it was due to incorrct form but I had some one check me out during lifts and my form is find.

My question is can I relpace JS rows with T-bar rows?

I find JS rows to be easier on my back than T-bar rows. With the t-bar you are pulling the weight up and toward you, so it goes back down away from you. This is just what I experience, but it may be different for you. When my lower back kills, I'll take a week or 2 off from JS rows and throw in some lying pullups (at least that's what I call them). Lay on the ground underneath a smith machine and lock the bar a position or two above where your hands would reach. Pull your body as far up toward the bar as you can and repeat for reps. You can even have someone hold a plate against your chest for added weight if you feel like you're not getting enough out of it. Works for me and I have no back pain from it at all.

Thanks for your response Get Some, man I use the T-bar today and it felt like i was in heaven compared to JS rows. I've tired the"lying pullups"..lol before.

Haha, what do you call those man? I can't remember the actual name for the life of me, I just do em, haha.

Face pulls.

Are you sure the JS Rows are what are doing it to your back? Never bothered mine. Also, IMO, T-bars are one of the most useless exercises out there. I think you would be better served by doing dumbbell rows instead.

Grizzly, I found that I wasnt using correct form during dead lifting. Now that I've made correction with that,,,,my lower back feel hella better.

So T-bar rows arent useful?
