Same Program Thru Cycle

Is it benificial to stay on 1 training program thru cycle or is it better to split it up?
Right now I am using a 5X5 program with a little arm work @ the end of my workouts Bi's when I do flat bench/ tri's on deadlift day. Don't want to waste a test en/eq cycle due to training.
