Shaving tools and skin care

Hey y’all. Is Norelco one blade the best for body shaving? Or is there some other great product out there. How about acne and general skin health control? Is sulfur soap as good as they say? Thanks in advance.

Isotretinoin for acne. Everything else is short term and usually not completely effective.
I got some just in case, thanks. What about prevention? I never have horrible breakouts or anything. Just some here and there, scrubs help but they dry the fuck out of my skin.

If you're prone you're going to lose the fight on cycle.

Facial or body? ,
Body mostly. Nothing really on the face, only after I shave face I get slight irritation bumps due to oily skin while on blast. Goes away quick with some soothing lotions and cleaning products for face. Shoulders, upper back and some on arms. Again, nothing crazy but annoying enough where I want to combat it.

Thanks @Country Club Hero ! I’ll add that to the list. I like that extended handle, but also hate it. You see I can talk my ol lady into helping me reach those difficult places.. and it has paid off before in leading to some freaky bathroom activities. Thanks again, I’ll def pick this up, cost ain’t bad, worth a try.

Only on, and only when higher than let’s say 500mg test.

Proven non-medical interventions include:

Cut sugar
Cut dairy
Wash daily with Neutrogena Body Clear (salicylic acid body wash), no need to exfoliate. wet terry cloth is sufficient)
Sleep naked
Fresh sheets every 3-4 days tops
Fresh shirt every day

OR(more effective)

Start doxycycline week before cycle, 100mg once a day.

Or, better:

Start isotretinoin, 10mg once a day two weeks before cycle, up it to 2x day once on cycle. ALWAYS ALWAYS take with food (80% less effective without food, preferably something with fat). Only side might be dry lips. This is a very low dose isotretinoin protocol but should be sufficient.

Avoid UGL, isotretinoin should be in oil filled gelcaps. Accufine from Indian pharma 10mg tabs are cheap. Like $15 per 100 (or less from the right places). Get more than you need in case you want to up the dose. This will be the most effective protocol. And every time you use it, you'll be less prone to acne the next time. You won't have a "purge" at this low dose.

DO NOT COMBINE WITH DOXYCYCLINE, OR ANY TETRACYCLINE ANTIBIOTIC.

Feel free to ask any questions now or when you're in it.

Wow this is such a great reply! This is why I love this board. Not to sound like a dumb fan girl but seriously thank you. I screen saved this text and put in my notes. I’ll try all the non-medical ways (already picked up neutrogena body clear based on past week research) will cut dairy, won’t be easy because I eat a ton of Greek yogurt and cottage cheese (might be the culprit of my acne honestly).

Bro, IMO, go for the accutane and live your life without avoiding a huge food category and dealing with all the other bullshit. Miss one step and the zits start coming in. I was deathly afraid of accutane, microdosed at 10mg/day. Usual prescribed dose is 1mg/kg so 90mg for me. I ended up at 180mg/day and was fine. Lots of chicks now on low dose accutane continuously for the other skin benefits (speeds up turnover, makes skin look great).

I can go a couple days without showering (I try not to; but I travel a ton), eat dairy, was super prone to terrible acne on gear, and now zero, zip. Not one pimple no matter what I do.

You might be just right on this. Ugh, I try and avoid any extra meds and shit but this might be something unavoidable. Thanks again for the in depth reply and taking the time to help me out, greatly appreciate some real world knowledge.

Pitbull shaver - Worth every penny (I do my head and chest), I've tried the others... Pitbull is about the same on shave closeness, but much easier to clean and charge lasts way longer.
Laser - worth every penny (back and shoulders).

I got an Amazon version of this unit, I used to use it for my head (shave bald). I didn’t really like using it for body, maybe it’s because I have the off brand. I have the braun series 9 for my head and face now, maybe I’m try that on my arms.

For me, the 4 blades on the Pitbull contour much better, especially for the chest, giving it a smoother effortless shave. It has a different spring suspension system that works together where I don't need to fight against it... like one of those 5 or 6 blade shavers.

I’ll have to try and see if I can snag one on sale. Wanted to buy one anyways to quickly touch up my head in between more close shaves. Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh, I bought mine on sale... the Platinum Pro with an extra blade, case, and rinse stand... $149+tax, back in May. Yeah, it's like $50 less on sale.

I personally use a Andis foil shaver. It's just as close as a straight blade on the head without the risk. I use it on my whole body, if you have longer hair when you start it won't take it down, you'll need a quality beard trimmer to take the hair off your chest, arms and legs first then follow up with the foil shaver.

For reference I use a Wahl peanut if I've let it get too long first, then I follow up with an andis resurge foil shaver for that super smooth shave. I run it dry and it's an extremely close shave without stubble.
