I just started home brewing. I have found so much info here but still have one question.
What has a longer shelf life?, raws or finished product?

Both are very long lastingI just started home brewing. I have found so much info here but still have one question.

Thank you. Both are very long lasting
but raws last even longer, as they don't have any other, different molecules to cross-react, everything in the bottle is the same substance.
finished gear: 5+ years
raws: 10+ years
From a big-pharma raws manufacturer:
Storage: In the original container, well closed, in dry and well-ventilated facilities, protected from direct sunlight at temperature between 15° and 25°C.
Re-test period: Three (3) years from the date of manufacture.

What is an adequate"original container" if your raws come I bags.In the original container

I wonder if they say retest to "overdose" the final formulation?A lot shorter than the 10 years you originally claimed BUT of course pharma will always be on the safe side and say 3 years to retest.
What I did notice though is that it's meant to be in dry and WELL-VENTILATED facilities. I know some people like to vacuum seal their raws if they're going to sit for a while.
Also between 15° and 25°C it means 59° to 77°F meaning that anyone that suggests throwing your raws in the freezer is wrong I guess. I do know some people like to do that too though..
I wonder if they say retest to "overdose" the final formulation?
i.e. if raws were 98% pure when new, and it dropped to say 95% in 3 years, they adjust their "overdosing" compensation?
OTOH it also means that raws are totally OK for at least 3 days, if stored in dry, cool, dark conditions.
