Sumo doesn't count!

I always hear people say this cause it doesn't use as much of the back and the rom is a little less. But sumo has always been harder for me, so I consider it just preference.
What do you think?
 
I read a few articles on this quite recently and from what I get out of it is just as you said not as much Lower back involement which is good for people who have a problem with that area of the body. and 2 both are equally as hard its just how your training, most people use regular deadlifting for records though.
