SWALE - low HDL, AAS use-HELP!!

Been on and off cycles for the last 18 months. Two years ago total cholesterol was 150, with HDL of 46. today my total cholesterol was about the same, but HDL was 27.

I've been on cycle for about six weeks, 750 mg/week test enan, 325 mg/week deca, and started w/ 30 mg/day of dbol. I have not been taking any ancillaries, simply because no symptoms.

How can i get my HDL number back up again? normally my HDL/LDL ratio is great; it has been for 25 years (i'm 47). My doctor seemed a bit concerned, but i know it has been good up until this test.

How much long term damage have the decreased HDL done?

Will taking 20 mg/day of nolvadex help that much? What other ancillary can improve HDL? How safe/effective are the statin drugs for HDL increase (my total is pretty good).

I'm thinking about going off and staying off cycle if i cannot get the cholesterol (specifically HDL) under control. No sense being a dead muscular dude.

thanks for the help.

swale-any feedback? they redid the labs with a vial of blood, instead of just the quick pin prick test. 30 HDL, 141 on total cholesterol, 91 on triglicerdies.

thanks for the feedback. currently i'm taking 20 mg nolvadex, added 20-30 minutes cardio 4-5 days/week, 1000 mg of niacin daily, and two beers nightly. hopefully this will raise things. Also more consistent in my flaxseed and fish oil extracts. prior to this test I was intermittent on the flax/fish oil, cardio'd less than once a week (degenerative arthritis in both ankles makes it tough) and was taking no nolvadex.

Please let me know what you think.

Of course you shoul dnot take steroids. Everyone knows they damage your health.

Having said that, even though your HDL is lowered, your CHOL/HDL ratio is still 5.2. Most docs are happy to see anything under 5.0, but I want to see <4.0.

Men on appropriate TRT may see their HDL drop a bit, but that is because of intensified REVERSE CHOL transport (anti-atherogenic). A VERY good thing, indeed. This is not the case when steroids are used, though.

Fish oil is vastly superior at providing omega-3 fatty acids than flax seed is.

Other than that, I cannot give you advice on how to run your cycle here. This Forum is for appropriate HRT.
