first off,i have a full head of hair. however,a previous post was a question regarding MPB and T therapy. i replied by saying they would lose the hair in the same degree whether their T level was low or high normal range. that said, using dosages that bring your levels to almost double the normal range will almost certainly speed up the process. of course,T therapy will not effect your hair at all if you do not have the baldness gene. what is your opinion?

Some people only seem to loose their hair when doing AAS cycles which push their DHT levels very high. Maybe MPB is more complicated than a single gene.

It isn't just high DHT levels that cause hair loss -- normal DHT levels cause it, too. The amount of DHT you have is irrelevant. What matters is the level in relation to the amount of DHT your hair follicles can genetically stand without becoming inflamed and therefore attacked by your immune system. Hence 50% of the population of aging males having thinning hair or receeding hairlines. These balding average males make up the "baseline" DHT levels you see on the blood test results.

Exogenous testosterone can raise DHT, which makes the problem worse. That is why I fear TRT.

Any large horomonal change in the body could result in a temporary shed of hair. (Like AAS use.) But, consistiently elevated DHT will lead to a more lasting loss.
