Syringe pump

So i wanted to take a different approach to the syringe filter option. Has anyone tried to use a syringe pump unit like this to push their oil through a filter? Im curious if it would be a good option. I realize this one is a stupid price but i got a lead on a working used model for under 100.

How do you plan to connect the syringe needle to the vial?

These infusion pumps are typically used for medical purposes and the resistance in the filter is usually treated as an "obstruction" in which case the pump will stop due to a failsafe mechanism to prevent injury.

Some alternative setups.
Labstand + vacuum pump + 60ml syringe
Negative pressure, avoids oil contact with the hose, quicker.

I've done this and it reduced time drastically. Attached the vacuum pump and let it rip

Labstand + automatic caulk gun + 60ml syringe
Positive pressure, cheaper, less stuff to mess vs the other setup.

The stand allows you to prop the syringe vertically above the vial.
If getting a caulk gun, get one with a wide mouth. Or just buy a few from Amazon and return the ones that don't fit.

I did see this post in the other thread and it was my first choice, but i was curious if the syringe pump at the right price could be like an auto caulking gun. i wanted a setup i could run inside a still air box or under laminar flow hood(havent decided which route i wanna go) and drip into an open sterilized vial and then cap it, i dont love the idea of pre puncturing vials, but if that is the way, then it is what it is
