Testing AAS blind vs specifying the product upfront?

When sending AAS for testing, do you guys send it in blind, or do you always specify the AAS product upfront?

I recently sent in some vials to Jano for testing.
I believe blind is superior and have always sent it for testing blind.

Amongst these samples, i had
(1) Superdrol in oil
(2) Mtren in oil
(3) DHB raws

All 3 sent in for blind compound identification + mg/ml for oils and purity% for raws.
Total $360.
I ended up with the following results.

(1) Superdrol in oil
1752085759555.webp

(2) Mtren in oil
1752085733447.webp

(3) DHB
1752085783855.webp

After inquiring, i found out that superdrol in oil and mtren in oil cannot be sent in blind.
The DHB was of an ace ester and cannot be sent in blind too.
To obtain the mg/ml and purity % would require me to order 3 more tests which will cost more than double what i initially paid for.
By sending it in blind, i had ordered 3 wrong tests.
I do not plan to pay for an additional 3 tests.

Jano gave me a additional test for free, probably out of pity after seeing me order 3 wrong tests in a row, which i appreciate.

Now the question is, do you order your tests blind?
Or do you always specify the product upfront?

Why one over the other?

I recently tested two samples of Primobolan, and as usual, I sent blind samples. It makes me feel more confident about the results. I mean, if the tester has too much work to do at a given time, they might skip testing the product to get through the work more quickly, if the sample isn't blind…

See this page...

The drop down lists tells you what you can send blind. If he hasn't run the ref standard on the regular column then he doesnt have detection time and standard column may not be set up to give peak under conditions used for the rest of the compounds.

Sorry for the bad luck.

All of the ones listed will work fine blind. Always send blind if it is possible.
