Testosterone and Blood Pressure

So rats were given testosterone. Middle aged and old rats. Testosterone "worked" on the middle aged rats but not on the old ones, even though the older ones were given more testosterone than the younger rats. Blood pressure increased in the middle aged rats given testosterone, but decreased in the older rats given testosterone. So they gave them blood pressure medicine (not kidding). Check it out.

This one held some unanticipated results (from my perspective). I know we are not rats, but I am curious to hear your thoughts on the results.

Testosterone decreased blood pressure in the older rats. It increased only in the middle aged rats.

The testosterone did not work in the older rats.

There might be a some lessons to draw in humans.
