Torn Pec

So I was on bench last week. Was benching and about the 4th rep in I felt something funny in my chest.. but I kept going. I had to stop a couple sets after on bench. The rest of my chest routine was fucked. Flyes were too painful, so I moved onto back. Anyways long story short, has anyone torn a pec before? How long did it take to heal to where you could be throwing up some nasty weight again?
 
Ugh. Sorry to hear bro. Do you go insurance to at least get it looked at. Preferably by a sports specialist instead of a GP. If you don't mind me asking, how much were you benching when it happened?
 
A fully torn pec will bruise instantly.

I havent torn it. But Ive strained it really bad. Doc said to do nothing for a few weeks. Of course I didnt listen. I started benching with my elbows in tight (like with skull-crushers) and it took a lot of pressure off of my chest.
 
No bruising. But I feel it when I move my arm around or push on things with it. Im just going to sit out on the chest exercises for a while.

You should be fine. Could have strained the tendon. After acute phase (ice, complete rest) begin with isocontractions and light massage, progress to extremely light flye like movements, and progress weekly. 2x day pump to it will speed healing and help new fibers remember what they are meant to do. If u can OHP pain free keep that in workouts but I kind of doubt it. Good luck bro. It's a lifelong sport take it slow
