Training Log

I figured I would go ahead and create a log from suggestions made by other members. I compete in the 198's and am currently in an off season. This is my first time logging online, so please bear with me. Trying a different approach with daily volumes and frequency.
Monday-6%drops
Squat w/ belt-550x5@8, 515x3x5 (these were still going strong after 3rd set, but form broke down and I called it)
Pause Bench-355x5@8, 330x3x5

(circuit style, nothing heavy but enough to bring up the heart rate)
Seated dumbbell shoulder press-100x8,100x8,110x8
Decline situp-35x3x10
Wide Cable Row-180x3x8
D.B. Curls-55x3x10

This was a very poor day in the performance aspect. Work capacity seems significantly diminished, but it will return. After all, this is the primary focus of this block.

I typically stay around 215 year round. Since I took the plunge with @Darius PharmacomStore test prop, I have jumped to 235. It won't be too difficult to cut back down though. I recently added in var from him as well which seems to be keeping my weight steady. I'll probably add in some cardio as well and see how I respond. Since my training sessions are now shorter, I could afford to add some in.

Usually go with a 5 day water manipulation for 24hr weigh ins to drop the weight for 198 or do you do a slow cut into the meet?

I have done both ways, but I now stick with a slow cut and then water load to drop no more than 10 pounds. I've cut 20 before and it was a hard lesson learned to say the least.

I learned the same lesson via a fully torn bicep tendon.

Approximately how old are you if you don't mind me asking? Anything over 740 puts you second in the nation at 198 behind Jesse Norris and I'm convinced that kid isn't human. His repping ability on all three lifts makes me believe he isn't even close to his eventual maxes yet.

I will be following with interest and hope the new training method produces good results for you.

I fully understand. I had always been fortunate cutting weight with little performance loss, but several years ago I decided to make a cut from 218 to 198. I not only made it, but came in at 195. This was a 12 hour weigh in, and I was able to put most of my weight back on. My attempts were going great, and suddenly I began cramping on my 2nd bench attempt. I gutted through my 3rd attempt, and everything seemed fine. I spent extra time warming up before the deadlift, but as I was working up in weight....It was only a 440 and right below knee level,I felt a pop behind my knee and then the searing pain that came with it. Needless to say I ended up withdrawing from competition when I couldnt even get my opener( which I had dropped by 100 pounds) I posted a pic of the result on Rodgers log.
As for Jesse Norris...I hate him. lol. Jk. He is an incredible athlete and it is absolutely amazing what he is capable of. I am in full agreement with you. The speed and execution of his lifts leave little doubt that he still has considerable gains before he reaches his peak. Sitting in my mid 30's, I am fully aware that it is unlikely I will be able to overtake him should we ever meet on the platform. I'm just getting too damn beat up to disillusion myself like that. It sure as hell won't stop me from trying.
Due to several injuries, I haven't competed in a couple years, but I prefer not to give out too much specific information about myself. With a little digging, it wouldn't be all too difficult to figure out who I am.

This was my end result of cutting from 218 to 195. After I returned home, I slept face down and upon waking the bruising had even made its way to the front of my thigh. It took me a solid week to get the swelling down.

Tuesday- Still showing a greatly decreased work capacity(6% drops)
Sumo Deadlift w/ belt-630x4@8, 650x4@9, 620x4@9
Close Grip Floor Press-365x4@9, 340x2x4@9
(circuit style)
D.B. Incline-130x3x8
Wide Pulldowns-180x3x8
Hanging Leg Raise-15x3x10

Although I enjoy feeling the heavier weights again, I am going to begin using more 10% drops so that I can get the additional volume.

If I can figure out how to do some serious video editing, Ill try to get a video of my deadlift training within the next few weeks. I am still a little behind on the times.

If you can't figure it out just shoot it from behind where your face can't be seen. Would love to see it. Not a lot of guys repping 650 at any weight.

I've disclosed enough on this site it wouldn't be too difficult for someone to figure out who I am either. Unfortunately, AAS is illegal where I live so I stay away from them so even if someone figured it out it wouldn't be a big deal.

In addition to tearing my bicep tendon when I tried to cut 18 pounds in 24 hours I passed out after each of my final two deadlifts. I had bruises from head to toe as the first time I was walking off the platform when I passed out and fell into a couple of chairs. The second time was right after I sat the bar down and I went down straight backwards.
