Hey guys I was curious to hear what routine you guys do that works/worked best for you. I am switching it up now and looking for something new to try.

Also with how my day is set up with working and working out I get anywhere from 6 to 8 solid hours of sleep. Is this adequate enough?

Thanks guys

Cory

Mr. CoryW- Please refer to the "stickies" in the training forum homepage.... see AnimalMass Favorite Routines, 5 x 5 Program, HIT, and DoggCrapp Routine.

There is a button on the top right hand corner it says "Search", this button does wonders... really!

I prefer to get 12-14 myself :) but 6 hours of sleep is almost nothing. 8 at least.

Mr. Chipmunk AKA 11 post junior ;) . I understand the stickies as well as I have tried them. I didnt ask that. I simply asked what training my fellow friends here on this great board do themselves. You will find quickly that many people have routines that they have put together themselves.

As far as the sleep I would love 14!!!!!

im pretty much in the same boat as you cory - im only getting about 6 to 7 a nite - i heard 8 to 10 is optimum man

4-5 hours a night for me bro. That equals being tired all the time, and slow growth and recovery. I'm a fucking trainwreck insomniac, gotta go to the doc soon for a sleep atudy at least.

Well thats my problem. I end up tossing and turning all night and sometimes I can get 6 to 8 hours. A lot of the time Im getting 4 or 5. I find myself completely exauhsted the whole day and then force myself to train harder and harder. I feel as if Im over tired? So I took a good week off from training ( and that sucked by the way) to try and get some good solid rest. And I started back on the training last Monday. Im doing good, but if you are like me you'll be fine for a few days and then totaly crash. So I wondered if it wasnt my routine? So I went back to one muscle group a day until I could get some ideas on a new routine that would work.

By the way my doctor had said that Im the type of person who doesnt react to medicine because my body does something weird. He had a big term for it but I forget what he said. When I have headaches it doesnt matter how many asprins I take it never goes away as well as the SLEEP meds he gave me dont work either. So thats not an option for me either. As well as caffeine and other related products have no effect on me.

7 - 8 hours is great. If your going to sleep more than 8 hours per day wake up and have a casein shake half way through.

"Hey, how about throwin' me a life preserver too! lol I'm in the same boat!
I think it may have something to do with my metabolism, the AAS, and
circadian rhythms. HMM!? Maybe a nice siesta?

I have had insomnia for years, i used pot for many of those years and stopped a couple years ago. In those last few years i've tried Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata, valium, ambien CR, melatonin. Most of those helped me fall asleep for a while, then they stopped working and i started abusing them. I now use a drug called Seroquel, its classified as an anti-psychotic but used for many things. I like it because it works and its not recreational/addictive. I get 8-9 most nights. It does leave me a bit groggy sometimes but i would rather be groggy for a few hours than not have slept at all. Theres many things that can get you to sleep that arent the traditional sedative/hypnotic sleep meds(ambien, lunesta, etc) that might be worth looking. Good luck with this.

I think a regular person need 7-8 hours sleep. If your training your body hard you should be giving yourself 9.

+1 on the siestas... nothing beats a nap after lunch.

I never sleep the whole night without waking up 15 or so times. It sucks, and translates into no fucking rest. Sometimes I'm more tired in the morning, than the night before.

Hey bro. 7-9 hours per night is optimal to grow and recover. As far a training goes now, post-up your current routine and what would you like to change on your body. E.g i want bigger biceps or more thickness on my back.

Then, i shall come up with something for you! =)

idiosyncratic?

I used to sleep like a baby for up to 12 hours, but now that I have kids I get 6 to 8 hours of sleep if I'm lucky. I cannot sleep past 7am no matter what. I try to keep to a schedule and avoid stimulating activities before bed. Benadryl if I'm trying to sleep early. I try not to overthink it, ie, worry's a waste of time.
