My AVG virus scan found it but can't heal it. The details of virus scan say that it is still infected. How can i get this off my harddrive?

Sometimes it is necessary to turn off system restore, and restart in safe mode.. then run liveupdate for norton (or whatever antivirus program you use) and do a full system scan.. A lot of times this is the only way to get rid of the virus..

To run XP in safe mode:

Click "start"

Click: "run"

type: msconfig

click tab: "BOOT.INI

Check the Box labeled "/safeboot"

click: ok

Then right click My Computer go to properties

click the system restore tab

Then click the "turn off system restore"

Shut down and restart.. You will be in safe mode.. and you will need to access your antivirus program from the program menu under the start tab. After this, it should get rid of the virus.

If you're surfing the web without an antivirus program.. you might as well walk into a sanfran bathouse handcuffed and blind folded..cause your sure as shit..gonna get fucked.

Liked that one huh?

Best line Ive heard all day! Very creative, I must say. If youre not gonna use it, can I steal it?

LOL No i wouldn't do that Phreezer. My AVG virus scan couldn't contain it. I reinstalled a fresh copy of windows, and it's all better now. I like to do this every so often. I have 2 harddrives,so i just drag everything over to "D",that i want to save, and then reinstall windows on "C". My comp runs faster now,i just can't get Mozilla to open up Cyberrights, because Java console isn't enabled on Mozilla, just on IE. I never pay attention how i always do it,but i'lll figure it out.
