Trt costs

So I been on trt 2 years now through my age management doctor. Paying $1250 yearly fee and about $300 for years worth of trt (200mg per week) I Just get 1 blood test and 1 appointment a year to discuss. Everything has been fine now so my question is, is there a cheaper way to obtain it through a legit pharmacy, like telemedicine or primary care? Or is $1500 a pretty good deal?

Out of pocket/cash pay, thats pretty standard. Using insurance and having a PCP prescribe TRT is more cost effective. A 10cc vial costs me $36 at Walgreens using GoodRX, unless I hit my yearly deductible then its $15. Labs and doctor visits vary depending on your coverage and if you have a traditional healthcare plan of high deductible/HSA plan. I probably pay half of what you do yearly going through insurance and my PCP.

Out of pocket, with testosterone and doctor/bloods included

IIRC I am around $450 per year. That is 4ML per month, one doctor appointment (because required) every 6 months so once a year.
This is through a sports endocrinologist that specializes in TRT and owns his practice.

I mean they did specifically ask for something through a legit pharmacy, if they were looking for ugl they wouldn’t have specifically said legit?

It’s mind blowing reading what some of you guys pay. Years back I was going to a urologist for fertility reasons. During that time I pulled alot of labs, all of which showed very low T so once I was done with my treatments my doc said, “how about we getting you feeling better.” That’s how my trt journey started. Anywho, I still see the same urologist for a check up, prescription refills and labs. My visits cost me $60 (copay) and I only see him twice a year. It’s nice since he always says on my way out, “I’ll see you in 6 months”, but I make my next appointment 7 months later. I pick up my 10ml vial from Walgreens for $10. I’m also prescribed a few other things through him like 5mg Cialis, adex, and Deca. Deca comes from empower and I recently quit filling that one since it’s stupid expensive and Empower’s Deca hurts since it has 5% ba.

My PCP has asked me a few times over the years why I go to a urologist and why don’t I just let him handle my trt but it’s what I personally prefer. Just sharing this because it’s quite easy to get your PCP to prescribe you testosterone if you have low T.

I've lived in 3 different states (USA) over last few years and never had a problem getting a new doc to prescribe TRT.

Didn't have a problem getting my first script, either.

I never understood why people pay insurance premiums, only to go to a mens clinic and pay out of pocket for TRT. I've been having my PCP prescribe my TRT since 2008 using my insurance.

Because most PCP's want you to basically have test levels so low you cry during movies and knit socks in your past time.

Yeah agreed most pcps do not understand sex hormones, they think if they barely get you into the low end of normal you’re g2g. The worst is when they are giving people every 2 week injection protocols, has that actually worked for anyone? I’ve found PCP knowledge on thyroid issues to be lacking as well.
