Chuck Liddell def. Tito Ortiz (KO)

Andrei Arlovski def. Wesley Correira (TKO)

Mike Kyle def. Wes Sims (KO)

Nick Diaz def. Robbie Lawler (KO)

Chris Lytle def. Tiki Ghosn (RNC w/o Hooks)

Yves Edwards def. Hermes Franca (Split Dec.)

Genki Sudo def. Mike Brown (Armbar From Triangle Choke)

Chuck Liddell def. Tito Ortiz (KO)

Tito decided to stand-up with Chuck, and when I noticed this I almost walked out of the room. Tito cant box with Chuck and it showed. Chuck wins via 2nd Round KO after a 20-hit combo. Tito threw a little fit, but still showed respect. Called Chuck the toughest SOB in the UFC and challenged Lee Murray.

Andrei Arlovski def. Wesley Correira (TKO)

Andrei simply outclassed Cabbage, and showed he was a much more technical striker. Cabbage was able to eat A TON of clean shots, but it was eventually too much. Andrei looked strong for Sylvia. It is going to be a war!

Mike Kyle def. Wes Sims (KO)

Mike KOed Wes Sims, but Sims almost subbed Kyle several times. He kept trying an arm-triangle, but his technique was sloppy. Kyle didnt even seem to understand what was happening and gave Sims like 4 chances to submit him. It was eventually stood up and Kyle dropped bombs. This win should be stripped from Kyle considering be bit Sims while on the ground. He claimed the bite mark was just from being choked, but c'mon! I have spent more time on my back than a Vietnamese whore, even been choked unconscious, but I have never been accidentally been bitten or bitten anyone during a choke. Totally class-less.

Nick Diaz def. Robbie Lawler (KO)

Nick Diaz controlled the entire match, and it was an all-standing match. Diaz was the better boxer, and caught Robbie clean. I was really surprised by how the match was won, Diaz being a BJJ Specialist. Diaz looks to be a VERY complete fighter, and I will be ordering UFC PPV's just to watch him.

Chris Lytle def. Tiki Ghosn (RNC w/o Hooks)

Crappy fight, and I didnt care either way. Also, I cant believe he got caught in that choke, and I can't believe it worked. That was an easy submission to get out of, he obviously didnt know much on the ground. That submission does work better with a gi and with a crank, but neither was used.

Yves Edwards def. Hermes Franca (Split Dec.)

Very close, and I actually had Franca winning this fight. Franca was more aggressive and tried more subs on the ground. Did you see that Kimura transition to an armbar? That was slick. At first I was like, "Who gave this clown a black-belt?" Then after that I was like "NICE!!" I even woke up my GF when I started screaming "NICE! NICE!" What can I say, I am a sucker for the groundfight!

Genki Sudo def. Mike Brown (Armbar From Triangle Choke)

Sudo almost took a KO shot, but still had composure. When it went to the ground, I knew Sudo was going to sub him. For anyone out there, when a JJ guy grabs your wrist DO NOT EXTEND IT TO THE SIDE! That leaves a gap for a Triangle, which can then go to several other subs. Sudo saw this (as did everyone except Mike Brown) and took advantage. Easy Tap-Out.

Overall, it was an AWESOME PPV for the card it had. Also, did everyone see the Omaplata attempt? I was about to cry for joy if that sub worked in MMA. It didnt, but a man can dream cant he?

Just my 2cc!

Four comments:

Tito/Chuck fight: i told you so! (this time it's me saying this Grizz :D). I knew this fight meant the world to Chuck, and Tito was so stupid for trading with Chuck.

Arlovski/Cabbage: Arlovski is an animal!... all i can say is, sorry for doubting his abilities against Sylvia, i actually think he'll KO him.

Sudo/Brown: It was obvious, Sudo is more exprienced.

Diaz/Lawler: Is it me or does Lawler have a glass jaw?

Yeah, I thought the same thing. You know the old saying: Never box a Mexican. (Unless you are Chuck Liddel :))

I was shocked that lawler was felled by that punch. Perhaps MFS has become too self-righteous?

Arlovski. Ouch, I would not want to get hit that many times even if I can split coconuts with my skull.

Yves Edwards. I like him, he is a pretty respectable fighter but the little brazilian was good too. He had balls and went for anything.

Sims.....(burp) ummm, the bite was cheap. The punch was clean but after Sims had signalled that something was amiss. That is a shitty win in my book even though Kyle strike good.

Tito,Chuck.....errrrr, I dunno, the huntington beach bad boy might need to just focus on his movie career. (burp). Chuck's hand speed and throwing capability was incredible. I'm sure he would be a bad actor in a street fight.

Nick Diaz......commenting a second time. I thought he was kind of a punk for taunting Lawler like Apollo Creed but hey, he did the job. He beat that blonde-haired whiteboy (who seemed pretty good) last time so I am pretty impressed. Actually, I applaud any athlete, regardless of his sport, who continues to improve. That is the mark of a champion.

I dont remember who else fought. I nearly shit my pants a couple of times from the grease on the large pepperoni pizza that I ate and the 12 pack of coors light that I pounded so its all a blur...just kidding, i enjoyed this PPV more than the last 3 and felt that it was worth the $ 29.95

Oh yeah, tiki.....errrrr, I dunno, he does ok in the san pedro cage fights right? For someone who trains daily with Razor Rob McCullough and Tito, I expected more. He had the traits of a defensive figther, IE, someone who is constantly sparring with someone whom makes them cover up and seldom gives them shots. Perhaps he needs to train with people his own class whom he can beat up to develop some attack skills.

Disclaimer - even the guys that sucked are people that I would not test. I'm not a fighter though so really its a case where I dont know the trade.

Disclaimer 2 - I dont know much about fighting.....my comments are from an uneducated observer's perspective and certainly do not reflect the skill level of the combatants compared to the average swinging dick on the street.

Time to pay up fellas!!!! :D Calling Finafreak, Southernjuice, and Strength222. I told you Chuck would beat the crap out of Tito. Email or PM me for payment info. :D :D :D

The results were very close to what i epected except the Arlovski fight, oviously, the guy who fought Pedro around two years ago was someone else, this guy evolved into an animal. He used to be very passive in the past, but his last two fights were something else. This guy should be in the Pride GP.

Hey Mark Kerr. I have only seen 1 UFC and it was back when I was still in HS about 10 years ago. I remember Ken Shamrock kicked the living shit out of some poor bastard.

Do any of those guys ever get seriously injured?? I mean like concussions, broken bones, vertebrae, neurological injuries?? The fights look like they are brutally violent. It seems to me like there would be some SERIOUS injuries in those fights.

There are injuries (like all other contact sports), but MMA is considered safe compared to some of the others (boxing/kick boxing/football etc.).

Yeah, they do, but like OT said, MMA is considered a safe sport compared to some contact sports. The only time people get hurt is if they dont tap when they should, or take a viscious beating.

I will comment on what no one else has about the the Arlovski and cabbage fight. NO one mentions that Cabbage had no idea who he was going to fight... It could have been sylvia it could have been Arlovski and in more likelihood than not it would have been neither..

I mean, how do you adequatly prepare for an upcoming fight when you are the sub/back up fighter? You've got to prepare for Tim Sylvia who's 6'10" and a complete and utter beast, or you've got to try and prepare for Arlovski.. and all the while the greatest probability is that you will fight neither...

I think Cabbage did rather well going into the 2nd round. You could tell from the start of the first fight cabbage was going to lose.. whenever arlovski attacked cabbaged just backed away and tried to cover up.. He'd take a couple of hard hits (give one of his own) and then arlovski would back up for a moment and then it would repeat.. I know that Cabbage has an iron jaw, but there's no way your going to take that kind of punishment from Arlovski and keep on your feet.

All in al though, I thought cabbage fought a pretty good fight given all the circumstances.

Tito should never.. I mean Never have tried to box with Chuck (everyone's a great monday morning quarterback :) ) But even if he had gone for the take downs and took chuck to the matt I still think CHuck would have beat him.. Like I said in my other post, I wanted to see ortiz win but I just don't believe that he's as good a fighter as chuck.. and CHuck proved that... And don't get me wrong.. I like Chuck, always have, It used to irritate the piss out of me that tito wouldn't give him a shot at the title unless the money was right.. My thought is Tito has known all along that he couldn't beat Chuck. That is why he always wanted a huge payday in order for that fight to happen.. it takes care of his future..

Anyway, I was pretty satisfied with the overall ppv..

Very true Phreezer, but he knew he was going to fight that night. Originally, he was going to fight Mike Kyle. So, although he didnt know he was going to fight Arlovski, in all fairness, Arlovski didnt know he was going to fight Cabbage either, but both were ready to fight that night.

If anything, you should make this point about Wes Sims. Wes Sims got 3 days notice that he was going to fight, because he wasnt even planning to fight that night at all! If anything, I was impressed that Sims took a fight on such short notice, and even came close to submitting Kyle on several occasions! Not to mention Kyle bit him!

Cabbage is a warrior, no doubt about it, but Sims REALLY stepped up like a man. Good show!

Yeah I watched it last night. I don't miss any of them (UFC, K-1, Bushido). I was surprised that Tito wanted to stand with Chuck. It just goes to show sometimes your ego will get your ass knocked out. Tito was out of his his mind he should've done what he's good at, got him down and pounded him. Randy even said that during the fight Tito was the stronger of the two and he should've tried to take it to the ground were he would've had the advantage. I don't think there's anyone around that has fist speed and power of Chuck. Hell He was knocking them out in K-1 fights too. He's bad!!!!

Cabbage- Even though he lost I'm impressed by his conditioning. After round one he wasn't even breathing heavy. When the fight was over he was standing there like nothing. Just wasn't his night. He didn't seen as agressive as he normally is.

Robbie- He's a great fighter but he's always depended on the knock out. He has no ground skills at all. As the sport progress's your not going to be able to rely on one thing your going to have to develope both ground and stand up skills, which most have done. He hits hard but he throws wild ass punches and leaves hiself wide open.

I can't wait to see shamrock come back.

OH Yeah WTF was up with the biting last night? Antoher Mike Tyson. LOL. Then when Joe asked him about it he said he was choking him and said he was a dirty fighter too he was just geting him back for all the shit he did. Didn't understand what he was talking about. I think if he wouldn't have biten him he would have lost that fight at one point he looked like he wa almost choked out.

Hey Karch, school is KICKING MY ASS! It is nothing like undergrad. Sometimes I think they give this amount of reading just to see if someone breaks down and crys. They are sadistic, that is for sure! On the other hand, I have gotten into a groove with my schedule, and now I have time to both workout and do BJJ again. But my plate is definitely full! Thanks for asking man.

More glass than a china cabinet

overall pretty good card. some of these guys are pretty good fighters with there hands, better than I thought.
Didn't care to much for the Edwards vs Franca fight, watching to guys roll around on the ground isn't very exciting to me.
Arlovski looks like he could beat most Hvy wt Boxers out there today
Glad to see Lydell KO Ortiz...........11
