Using a dip belt as a squat belt substitute?

Do you mean to do belt squats with it? If so it'll work. Dip belt is less heavy duty and definitely less comfortable than a belt squat belt. Have to watch out for the chain biting you too. Don't want to catch your nuts in it.

If you mean doing barbell squats somehow wearing a dip belt I don't know how that would work.

I meant the latter. I already have a dip belt(strap not chain), and have never used a squat belt for barbell squats. I tried using my dip belt for barbell squats after I wrote this question. I just took the strap and wrapped it around my waist. It did provide relief in my lower back. I've ordered a squat belt since then.

Yes, I pinched my balls with a chain a couple of times)) It was an indescribable sensation

For some reason, for me, for some reason, when I put the disks on the straps, they quickly fray, but the chain is straight well. But there are nuances) because the chain is insidious and love to pinch the parts of my body)

what do you recommend to use according to your experience?

For barbell squats and deadlift? I have a 4" single prong belt for squats and a 3" single prong belt for deadlift. For belt squats I have a Spud Inc belt squat belt.
Thanks for the advice. I never thought that there could be different belts for deadlifts and squats. But I will definitely try, as will the dips belt. Thanks to

Do you have different squat and deadlift belts? and what is the advantage of having different belts for deadlift and squat

A 4" belt can negatively affect your deadlift setup. That's why I use the 3" for deadlift. Not necessarily the case for everyone especially if you're tall. Worth trying one out to see though.

I also noticed that in the deadlift I like a less rigid belt than in the squat. I tighten the squats tightly so that the press rests against the front wall of the belt

Got my squat belt and wraps. I didn't notice interference with the 4" belt while doing sumo squats. However, using the knee wraps, I was able to do my normal 1rm for squats, at 2 sets of 4 reps. I'm not too sure I want to use them often as I didn't feel like the muscles were working as hard.

It seems to me that hard bandages should be used when the weight is heavy on the bar.

On the contrary, I like the wider belt, it gives me more confidence when squatting.
