Vacuum filtration tubing

Hopefully this is an easy question.

When I was using bottle-top filters, I was using the wrong filter membranes--I think I was using PES, which isn't really compatible with BA and BB. One of the problems i had was that the filter would get clogged quickly and filtration would get slooooooooooooow. The result was that my vacuum pump would collapse the tubing that I was using to pull air through the filter. I was using regular air line, which is not intended to resist a vacuum.

What reasonably priced options are there for short lengths of hose that will work well for pulling a full vacuum? Should I just buy threaded 3/8 ID vacuum hose from McMaster-Carr and cut the threaded ends off to go on barb fittings?
