Olympians Stripped of Medals for Doping

[SIZE=-1]The International Olympic Committee on Thursday stripped two Belarussian hammer throwers of their Olympic medals and disqualified a Polish kayaker from the Beijing Games because of doping violations.

Vadim Devyatovskiy of Belarus lost his silver medal in the hammer throw, and his teammate Ivan Tsikhan lost the bronze. Both had failed tests for testosterone not produced by their own bodies. Devyatovskiy is also permanently barred from Olympic competition because it was his second doping offense.

Krisztian Pars of Hungary will receive the silver. Koji Murofushi of Japan will be awarded the bronze.

The Polish kayaker Adam Seroczynski, who finished fourth in the 1,000-meter mens kayak, was disqualified after testing positive for clenbuterol, a banned drug that helps burn fat and promotes muscle growth. Seroczynski and his teammate Mariusz Kujawski were also disqualified from the mens 1,000-meter double kayak because of Seroczynskis failed doping test ...[/SIZE]
