Are there any Vegan lifter's on this forum? I recently became a vegan five months ago after being a "normal" eater my whole life, loving animal products. I made the switch for health and social reasons. I still hit my protein requirement of 150 g of protein a day (95.3 kg x 1.6 g/kg).

I have been thinking about starting my first cycle sometime after the holidays in January 2017. If I got on gear I would definitely up my protein intake to take advantage of the increased protein synthesis. What are your guy's opinion on cycling while on a vegan diet and recommendations for protein intake?

I just wanna say that everybody knows animal protein is superior and i gues you can make some gain but on gear for sure.

Actually it's scientifically proven that animal protein has all the essential amino acids in larger dosages than other sources. Gear allows your body to synthesize greater quantity of protein. Not only that but your body will be capable of retaining a significantly higher % of nitrogen as compared to being natural. Upping your protein intake is certainly a good idea to promote better gains. Given your stats you should work on getting somewhere around 280-300 grams of protein/day once you decide to start using

I agree that some sources of animal protein contains more BCAA compared to their plant counterparts, but plant sources of protein do contain all essential amino acids. There is no such thing as an incomplete protein. I definitely plan to increase protein intake, but probably not 300 grams. That has to be hard on the kidneys

Only reason I opened this thread was to tag him, otherwise it's against my morals to be associated. We strive to be the top of the food chain I wouldn't want to spit on all the past generations of humans and revert back.

In all seriousness OP you do what makes you happy but it is not for health reasons as its healthier to be an omnivor
 
I've had this discussion with a lot of people... A vegan diet is not ideal but if a vegan knows nutrition, it's not any less superior to a regular diet. The biggest disadvantage is food choices and limitations IMO. Otherwise, if a vegan understands how to make complete proteins, it's fine.

Ha. No doubt.

I wouldn't think Scot's had a lot of meat in their diet though. Some... But it was most likely comprised more of grains, root vegetables and fish in that area. Sounds kinda vegetarian Rodge. :)

You are doing gear and saying too much protein wtf and you are worried for kidneys.

Bruh, it's not like all the protein you eat just magically turns into muscle. There comes a point where your body cannot synthesize the protein you eat into muscle, even if you are on AAS. FYI, you can also eat carbs and fats lol

Use as much isolat if you can.
Sure you will get much more with carbs.
I read some artical from ben pakulski using leucine to spike protein synthesis.

Like protein,glutamin and bcaa are aminoacids.
Luicine is dominant aminoacid which can spike protein synthesis.
That synthesis is even more powerfull when you combine isolat,leucine and carb.
That is my whole point

There absolutely is such a thing as incomplete protein. There also is such a thing as mixing together incomplete proteins to get complete sets if amino acids.

If you're an otherwise healthy individual, 300g of protein will not be hard on your kidneys.

Probiotics and enzymes won't stop gluconeogensis....

Almonds, cashews, peanuts, rice, spinach..... Do you want me to go on?
Now go on nutritiondata.com and look at the amino acid profiles for all those foods. They contain ALL essential amino acids.

It is true that certain protein sources do not contain high amounts of some amino acids, but there is no such this as an incomplete protein.
