If you look down below your name on a post you will see how many posts you have made and below that is a little box. Yours is black (nice black box Bob) lol anyhow some are green because when they setup they turned this option on.

looks like green means good reputation.. and black means bad reputation. maybe red will be really bad rep? i guess it's a way for people to know how good the advice someone is giving is if they're not familiar with the board.
