300?
Is $500 too much?
What should it include to be fairly priced?

Thanks A LOT for your answeryou need more info brother.
What kind of test?
HPLC? MS? just qualitative (is something present) or quantitative (how much of that something)?
Microbiology testing? Heavy metals?
Is a analytic standard needed? (they vary in price and availability)
So it really would depend upon many factors -- the way you asked in now, no one would be bale to honestly give you a solid answer.
I think (I do not remember exact amount) I got HPLC for one compound (presence and concentration of the compound I suspected it to be -- nothing else was determined), the lab already had a standard, for about $350.
SRCS used to do quantitative testing for $100 per compound. Jano does it for $65-90 per compound. ChemClarity is claiming to do it for about $45 per compound. Simec is an extreme outlier that charges about $330 per sample. So I'd say anywhere in the $50-100 range would be fair, although I know I'd gladly pay $150 or so per compound to know what I'm taking is real.
there is difference between accredited lab like Simec and somebody hiding in the basement claiming to master chemistry
I rather spend $330 and have a peace of mind.
The price for equipment is very high there is no way you get return on your investment if you charge $45 unless you do some broscience.
