i think it stands for money transfer certification number. anyway it's the identification number for that particular transaction. it will be on the receipt that they give you. getdiesel

i threw mine receipt away i didnt know i needed it.. Is there anyways for the person to pick up my funds without it?

it stands for money transfer control number.

next to the payee, it's the only important piece of info they need.

i believe it helps make the transaction easier....

but if you have all the other info, you may be okay.

esp:
- senders first/last name
- city/stae where they sent funds from
- make sure he used your name correctly-first and last
** test question/answer should match

even with all that, some WU stores are dicks...you may want to call and ask first--tell them you lost MTC#
