anywhere there is loose skin that you can pinch in between your thumb and forefinger is a good spot. Thats why people usually do it around the belly button, but not too close to it.

I inject in the upper thigh while sitting. I just point the needle straight down into the middle of the upper thigh. That's how Shippen taught me.
