whey or muscle milk

" REAL FOOD " .... dont rely on protein shakes as your nutrient intake... It would be much better for you to ingest some complex carbs and protein post workout for recovery...

Your post workout recovery should be white rice and chicken, and another meal should be followed 2 hours after that of the same thing.

Protein shakes are nice before bed, all other meals should be lots of real food

Just curious train, why white rice? I prefer brown rice......am I missing out on something? Or is that just your preference.

a purer sugar rush...after a workout u want an insulin spike along with ur protein intake. chicken n rice will take longer to digest than whey. right after a workout i'll take a 50gram whey shake with extra cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of white sugar, and 60-90 minutes later i'll have a real meal. chicken or beef, 8-10 oz, and brown rice or whole grains, plus veggies...slower insulin release. for longterm health, u only wanna really spike ur insulin post-workout along with a flood of easily absorbed protein.

I usually only eat white rice after working out, its easily absorbed and digests quick, otherwise its always brown rice for slow release and extra fiber. On a side note, I used to always be a very strong believer in a post workout shake, but I found real natural food gives better, quicker, and leaner results. I still take protein shakes, but only 2 a day, 1 two hours before working out, and another before bed, everything else is real food.

damn, I was looking to order a few cases of protein drinks to take after my workout and maybe as meal replacements. Thanks for the advice.

*sigh* so much to learn
