Who has to fight a rest day?

like I use to train 7 days a week but now i force my self to take 1 day off a week and it's honestly hell, only reason I now do so is I have seen so many reports and books etc that say if you take a rest day you will build more muscle in the long run, and it's less stress on your joints etc how many rest days do you guys have truthfully haha!!.

Since I've been on my Anavar cycle, I average around one rest day a week. I probably should rest more, but once my Var dose kicks in, I get a good burst of energy and just want to lift.

They do say that the magic happens while you're asleep. It is very hard to stay away, though.

Well
I've been everyday for last 2 weeks I like to think it counts as resting when I'm not training the muscles in not doing
Ie if I'm doing legs and abs the other muscle groups are resting
But I might be wrong

I train exactly four days a week, no more and no less. I make more gains than I ever did going 5-6 days. I also have every session mapped out for months in advanced and that makes things easy to follow.

I know the feeling of wanting to go every day though. I had to force myself to go less days at first until I saw how much better my progress was and then I never looked back. Sometimes less is more.

Train 4x a week and find yourself some other hobbies. Gainz come during sleep and on days off if you continue to go everyday then you are not giving your body time to heal before you add the new stressor then it has incomplete healing time and healing = gainz. If you can go day on day off and show that discipline I bet you that you will see more devolopment in 6 months then you would in a year of going everyday

Haha see the report I seen said no matter if you split you muscle groups up your still straining the system etc so it's best to rest, also your shoulders take a hell of a a lot of grunt because even if your pulling or pushing your shoulder joints are getting hit.

Does cardio only still count as a rest day? Lol. I'm on cycle and I feel like I constantly have to be doing something in the gym.

It's fine in my opinion as long as it doesn't interfere with recovery enough to affect training. I've been taking a bike ride or two a week lately on my off days.

I know I'm new to all this, but I have a hard time taking days off now. I feel guilty, almost like I'm being lazy. Sometimes I'll go anyway, and say I'll just do some real light stuff, but once I'm there that goes right out the window.

I know the guilty feeling. I've lost a lot of weight in the last couple yrs and if I miss a training day I feel like its all gonna come back. The thing is I really know better, but I just can't seem to make the adjustment.

Haha, this is so me. I tell myself I'm only going to do cardio and I somehow end up doing a full-body lifting session. I justify myself by saying it's okay as long as I'm using lighter weights.

I have a terrible time convincing myself to take a day off. I usually don't. I know I'm supposed to but man it's hard. But what I do is just got for a run instead of lifting heavy. Not sure if that counts as a day off.

So much relief after reading your post! Now I need to find a way to really convince myself to stick with cardio only. Lol

Just plan your whole week (or several weeks) ahead of time and stick to your plan. If you need more to do work on stretchIng and mobility. Just think of the rest and recovery as being just as important as your workouts because they are.

Sometimes I have to go to the gym earlier than my fiancee and I'll come back with her later and do a whole stretching and mobility session.
