Why CN HGH such weird quantity?

Hey fellas,
New around here, haven’t quite taken the plunge on anything. Lots of good guidance from my newbie post though, I’m working through that as best as I can.
My question is: why are the vial quantities of CN generic hGH so.. weird? 10iu, 24iu, 36iu.
Is there any reason to not go with the highest quantity? is it because it is so delicate and degrades so fast…? If so, what’s the max time frame or number of draws from a vial which I should be doing? I’m thinking 2iu / day to start…
Just trying to learn.

Partially depends on how much GH do you plan to use. Many people here use a vial in under a week. Seems like a good rule of thumb.

I'd be hesitant to use 1 vial per month. In that case, buy smaller vials. There is a lot of guessing and speculation, but that's what I'd do.

I worked up to 10 IU/d so the big vials make sense in my case (financially and for convenience).

I use 40IU vials at 5iu a day. So 1 vial lasts me 8 days. When I first started out I used 2iu and used 10IU vials then worked up slowly into bigger vials. Honestly not much of a difference per IU so I’d buy vials in what you can use quicker.

Because GH is sensitive. Degrades to dimers and bad news. So 5-8 days per vial, and that many draws.
That gives me a baseline, thanks.

Just to note, this is still a lot of speculation and guesswork. Two weeks might be fine. I still stick with 1 week or less.

There aren't any studies in healthy adults on GH with 0 vs 1 vs 2% etc dimer to see if there's a difference. It's something Jano can test, so we talk about it.

I use a 24iu vial at 2iu per day, which lasts me 12 days. While HGH may degrade slightly over time, studies show that properly stored HGH (2-8°C with bacteriostatic water) remains stable for at least 10-14 days with minimal potency loss. Some degradation is inevitable, but in real-world use, the difference is negligible. Planning to increase to 3iu soon.

I did a lot of research at some point but I can’t remember where I read this. I think it was from a serostim or genotropin informational packet. It said explicitly to toss out your hgh 2 weeks after reconstitution with bac water if you haven’t used it yet. I’ve always thought of that as a hard limit, but try to keep it at 8 days or less. Lots of guesswork on this. Can’t imagine ugl is on par stability wise with pharma.

That’s solid guidance, thanks. AIM for a week, hard limit at 14 days… perfect

Yep it was the serostim insert. Good find @readalot.
My pleasure.

The Geno a little different with longer storage after reconstitution in the fridge.

Also store product before reconstitution in the fridge. That's what made me go with Sero over Geno. No way to guarantee gray market Geno is refrigerated prior to use.

16.2 Storage and Handling
The 5 mg and 12 mg GENOTROPIN single-patient-use cartridges:

Store GENOTROPIN lyophilized powder under refrigeration at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) until the expiration date. Store in the package to protect from light. Do not freeze.

After reconstitution, store the pen (with the cartridge) in the pen box with the pen cap on to protect from light. Store under refrigeration at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) between each use, for up to 28 days. Do not shake. Discard the cartridge and any unused medication after 28 days. Use a GENOTROPIN PEN 5, a medical device, to reconstitute the 5 mg two-chamber cartridge, and use a GENOTROPIN PEN 12 to reconstitute the 12 mg two-chamber cartridge.

Genotropin adds the preservative metacresol to get a longer shelf life after reconstitution.

It results in a longer shelf life, likely at the cost of more aggregation (and loss of active HGH), as well as potential allergic responses to the metacresol (m-cresol) with some people.

Serostim has a lower rate of reported sides with the FDA than Genotropin.

"m-cresol (CR) is an effective AP and is used at low levels (0.3%) in peptide and protein formulations. However, CR has been shown to cause protein aggregation, leading to a decreased concentration of the functional monomer. More often these protein aggregates induce serious immunogenicity and toxicity."

Precisely. I wasn't down with that excipient. Bravo.

Interesting that Pfizer calls for the lyo protein to be refrigerated before reconstitution. Sero doesn't. Not immediately clear to me why based on the excipients in each.

I personally prefer larger IU vials. A 10 IU vial lasts one day, a 24 IU vial lasts two days, and a 36 IU vial lasts three days.

As others have noted, if you plan to use smaller doses, it's best to stick with 10 IU vials.
