Why the hate on SST?

Why do people here hate on SST and their sources? Their website is organized and sources seem to be verified by users. Just curious.

Because sst gives sources the benefit of the doubt, meso does not.

Also the members there like to suck source cock just cause they mail them something. They live and die by blood work and don't put as much value into hplc testing.

SST serves its purpose of a quite place for a source to set up business.

Meso is a much harder crowd to please.

Although Meso is much more mellow these days compared to what it was a year ago with regards to insults.

The regulars on SST also disappeared and there doesn't seem to be many of the vets on that forum anymore like there was a few years ago.

The attitude on SST does seem less critical overall, but a few of the more popular sources give store credit ($200 for any product tested) or will reimburse you for testing.

I think a big issue is the lack of users (currently: SST 5 members 55 guests online, MESO 120 members 260 guests online). They do have a labwork section but it's just not very active.

As someone new to anabolics, here's my experience so far: SST is a great additional resource, but MESO is better for learning how to approach sources.

The attitude here can seem comically harsh at times, but the assumption is that sources are bad faith actors, and that they must prove themselves otherwise on an ongoing basis. SST tries to align with this philosophy too, but it feels like it's easier to get lulled into a false sense of security due to the "friendlier" atmosphere.

Harm reduction is not just about verifying sources, but also teaching newbies the skills and habits to go verify sources for themselves. Like the maxim of crypto: "Don't trust. Verify." How many people verify the SHA256 hash or code signature of their desktop wallets? How many even use a desktop wallet, as opposed to trusted 3rd parties like Coinbase (the very things crypto sought to disrupt)? This too is harm reduction. It's free to perform, and still people don't do it. In these situations, people tend to follow the path of least resistance and blindly trust unless taught otherwise.

I think it's possible to scrutinize sources without being an asshole. But of the two, when setting an example for harm reduction, MESO's overt hostility probably gets the message across better than SST's restraint.

True that the Meso crowd is harder to please, as it's because members here discourage sucking up to sources. SST is scammer heaven too.

It’s gotten better. People don’t demand testing as people do here. The sources have started testing final product more.

Downsides: There were a couple of big exit scams (Southern Compounding and SRX come to mind). The vetting process is hidden and handled by the mods. People tend to heap praise on sources for doing basic things like shipping packages.

Southern Compounding was one of my main sources for brewed gear. I received my last pack from him like two weeks before he pulled his exit scam bullshit. It sucks when someone like SC who regularly posted on the forum walked off after building everyone's trust.

The problem is some of these shippers are lazy slow cunts.

SoCo was the only source I was buying from. I am actually still running their test and mast since I have so much.

Regarding slow shipping, you will see people singing praises even for these; one day they will ask “where’s the pack I ordered three weeks ago?” And the next day, “Source sent me an update email, all good! Shit happens, sources are people too, Source is the greatest and totally G2G!”

Two of the better sources on there at one time. So yet another reminder that even the “good” sources exit scam.
