general questions about brewing

Hey guys,
I'm interested in homebrewing, seems like an exciting topic. I have some questions, though.

1) I've read you take a 0.45 whatman filter for bigger molecules, 0.22 to filter out the rest of bacterias. Can one add both filtrations for all raws so it's as sterile as possible?

2) Some say one should take 18/25G needles for the brewing while bass says 18/20G. Is there any rule? Why choose those? The bigger ones for thicker oils, right?

3) How do one know the exact amount of BA and BB? Bass recommends not to add BB with long esters and add BB for short esters to stabilise them. Is there any rule? One should not exceed 5% BA, will hurt, right? Can one actually add just as many BB as one wishes to the solution to thin it out?

4) Is somewhere written down how many grams of raw equals it in ml? As a rule of thumb I see often 1g=0.75-0.85ml. Can one calculate with 1g=1.5ml to slightly overdose the solution? Or is there another way to overdose it instead of calculating the raws higher to have less oil?

5) How many ml should one brew at the first attempt? (Tren A, Test P, Mast, EQ, Var)
Tren A 100mg/ml @10ml, Test P the same, Mast the same, EQ 250mg/ml @5ml, Var 25mg/ml @10ml, is that good?

6) How do one know what the max. brewed concentration is for raws?

7) Do you bake it at 200 degree for 15 min as Bass does at the end? Is this for sterilising?

Maybe adding more questions.

Thanks in advance.

8) So for higher concentrations (and short esters) one need to put EO in. Bass recommends 2% BA, 20% BB, 35% EO, rest oil or 3% BA, 20% BB, Rest EO.
Say one wants to make 200mg/ml Tren Ace do one need to add the BB? Because actually you left BB out if you brew Tren Ace if I recall correctly.

9) Adding BA, BB, powder, put in warm water bath. At how much degree? Is 50 degree Celsius right?

10) For the Var one uses PEG 300 and Everclear. What could you take instead of Everclear (95.6% alcohol, 4.4% water)? Just some sort of other alcohol of 97%?

/bump with a beautiful ass :-)

Anyone? You don't have to answer everything and if you just share your experience, not in relation to my questions, it's ok too, so I can learn from you!

i have never brewed with EO i have gotten Test Prop to hold @ 100mg/ml and test cyp @200mg/ml with 2% BA 20% BB and GSO. i have never used a syringe filter, i have only used bottle top filters. from my research and based on what everyone says, once you go bottletop you will never go back, so i went right to the good stuff.

personally i dont see any reason to brew at a higher than normal concentration, if you look at the accounts of people taking T 400 it leaves giant lumps and hurts like a bitch. i would rather just inject more oil.

that is pretty much the extent of my experience on HB.

Thanks for your answer, biebs111.

I was really thinking about buying EO too for higher concentrations. But I haven't in mind that it'd be more "agressive" for the body. So maybe you're right and I just inject more oil. Can I put 2 or 3 different AAS in one syringe and inject at once? Or will that hurt too?

Bottle top filters seem quite comfortable, think I'm gonna do it that way!! Do you have 0.22 or 0.45? I guess 0.22?!

How do you sterilise your vials?

you can inject multiple oils in one syringe, that is no issue. if you are capping your own vials you really should have an autoclave to sterilize everything, but if you are just brewing your own for strictly your own use, you can buy pre-sterilized sealed vials and inject directly into them.

It's just for me. So I'm gonna go with pre-sterilized sealed vials.

More advice and input is always welcome:)

How do you transfer from a bottle top container to sealed vial? Do you use a septa cap and turn into a big vial to pull from and inject to vial?

if you are using a bottle top filter and media bottle, then yeah. if you are using a whatman syringe filter, just put a needle on the other side and filter directly into it. dont forget to put another pin in the sterile vial to vent/relieve pressure

Based on your questions, you need to do lots of research before you brew.

They are good questions...the things you should be thinking about but you should research each one and answer them...less questions = more answers.

EO is really hard on your filters.
