Brutus79 And Johnnyballz Cycle Log

Theres a trainer at my gym he looks young but probably early 30s like myself. I was never really impressed with his physique , but he is built really nice, probably 6 ' 1 215 lean as hell , natty etc. seen him work out a few times, and while he has mad core strenght i never thought much till i attended this meet with him.

He hit 505 x 1 .. the pain was in his face.

that aint light Brutus, congrats. most will never pull that. im trapped in the 3s but i have a valid excuse with all the titanium back there and back surgery.. Keep it up.. push it to the limit !

Joining a farmers cooperative tomorrow and switching to grass fed/grass finished beef/raw milk, yogurt, cheese, free range chicken and eggs, fresh organic produce, breads, etc. They even have camel milk- as good as gh and pretty much just as expensive. Looking to get buff and healthy.

Camel milk= gh? Bring it! Congrats on the 500lb df. That impressive. It hurts my back thinking about lifting that kind of weight so I'm glad to see someone I respect pull it.

Any pr is big!

Just catching up in here, been busy the past couple of days at work. Nice work on the PR brother. 500 is a real solid pull.

Deadlifting heavy takes guts a lot of guys don't have. Amazing how many otherwise strong guys I've been around over the years who didn't have the balls to pull heavy on a regular basis.

Don't get me wrong there are a lot of guys with major back issues who shouldn't pull heavy but there are a lot more guys who should and would be better off if they did, but can't handle it.

Deadlifting heavy is almost as much mental as it is physical. There have been a lot of days when a program called for me to do over 500 and I couldn't get 450 and I finished the workout feeling like a beaten man.

My best deadlifting day came at a meet. I completely fucked up my weight cut and ended up having to drop 15 pounds in 24 hours to make 181. I ended up completely tearing my bicep tendon benching, I'm sure due to the weight loss. I only ended up benching 336 instead of what should have been 375 or more.

At that point I was determined to pull at least 500 pds., not because it meant anything but just so I wouldn't consider the meet a total loss. I got 491 on my second pull but felt like I was going to pass out after. Went for 513 on my last pull, for the first time ever I could feel the violent leg shake you sometimes see in videos of guys trying to lock out max pulls. I locked it out and remember getting the down command. The next thing I remember was three guys picking me up off the floor and saying you got the lift after I had passed out and fallen.

I found new bruises every day for the next week from the fall and had to have surgery to fix the bicep tendon. I've pulled a lot more weight than that on other occasions but that was the one day I felt like I won the battle against the deadlift even though it was clearly a 15 round bout that left me feeling the after effects.

your form was bad or you was trying to lift more than you should of been lifting. Deadlift done right is one of 3 lifts everyone should do.

Yepp, you won't get hurt with perfect form.. For some reason I can't keep form going heavy, I'll go up to 315 for reps but that's as high as I'm comfortable with.. I really fucked my back up 10 years ago with deads (fine now) so I'm one of those scared guys MP!! :)

It's not that important to me. Plenty of BBers don't do deads at all..

Of course my form was bad...I was 16 and strong as hell.

Lower back injuries ain't nothin to fuck with. That is unless you like permanently riding around in a rascal

well you can't blame the deadlift. kind like a gun, the weight isn't going to go pick itself up and hurt you. just like I have never seen a gun jump up and go kill anyone. take a person whether using their head or not to move both objects. lift smarter not harder ;) I've had back injury's before, but wasn't from lifting.

Of course I lift smarter...by not doing deads at all. It would be unwise for me to go down that path again. I do miss em cuz I was REALLY strong on the pull but it really Is an exercise you could easily fuck up. The pain lasts forever. In fact still to this day if I spend too long leaning over a counter to shave or pop pimples it gets aggravated as fuck. No bueno.

Not to derail the discussion on deads but I haven't really been pulling my weight with this log lately... I'm also losing track of what's going on so let's lay it out while I have a few min on this dreary Friday morning..

As of last Sunday to now my protocol has been:

300mg test c/week
750mg EQ/week
50mg TNE preworkout ~5 days a week
70mg mast p/ED
60mg tren a/ED
40mg fina home brew tren/ED
40-60mg var/ED
4iu Serostim/ED
12mg albuterol/ED
100mcg T4/ED
12.5mg aromasin/ED
10mg nolva/ED

Strength has been climbing with the tren while I've been "recomping".. I had hit 245lbs earlier in the cycle now sitting at 230lbs(night weight) after dropping water and some fat.. After I dropped dbol and lowered test I dropped 8lbs of water that week, the rest has been steady fat loss. Diet is very clean with 1-2 cheat meals on weekends, cardio 6 days a week for 30 minutes..

Today will just be cardio and abs later, tomorrow I think we're doing back and chest again..

3 hours a week of cardio would be much tougher for me at this stage than a hard pulling session! Nice job JB.

I would need to keep my schedule in a notebook if I was pinning and taking all of that each day.

There is no doubt some guys aren't build to deadlift. If you can't pull correctly at least up to near maximal lbs. you're probably better off not doing it. Having said that I know a large percentage of my back and trap development is courtesy of deads.

Its strange to me that people get hurt deadlifting... to me it is the safest of the big 3... squats will crush you if you fail, bench will ruin your arms and shoulders (and crush you) if you fail, deads either can be picked up- or they can't. My form is automatic and I love the leverage factor- maybe I should be more grateful for that.

It's a pain in the ass to stay on top of it all, was fun the first 4 weeks but all the pinning and pills is really annoying at times.. This is going to be my last big/long cycle for awhile so I'm making the most of it.. :)

I can put on 25lbs real quick but I've never had much in the way of LBM gains after 6 weeks so I'm going to start doing 6 on 8 off and see how that works for me..

Brutus has helped me a lot with my form on deads this cycle but like I said I lose it going too heavy.. I like deads and I'm going to keep working at it but it's not really my focus..

I like the idea of 6 on and 8 off or in my case 8-10 on and 12-14 off to coincide with pre meet training cycles.

Also I have trouble eating clean and big for much more than 8 weeks at a time.

Congrats B79! Awesome number on the DL... I've been following along and still picking up knowledge here and there... I've been stuck at 375 for a bit... 500 is a goal of mine.

Ballz, I'm curious about your current food regime... I'm assuming it's different than earlier in the cycle... You guys taught me a lot about food intake earlier in the log, so mainly what's your basic cal carb fat intake, minus the 2 cheat days. That's a serious stack you got goin!

Cuz theirs always that point in the pull where your lower back is compromised. That's nearly always where the injury occurs also sometimes at lock out.

The ironic part is I didn't injure myself on a maximal pull. I did it on my 20th rep with a light weight( 315). Plus I was young and way to eager. I know better now.

No doubt you can fuck yourself up doing any compound lift incorrectly.

You are one of the lucky ones if your form comes naturally pulling. Those are generally the best deadlifters. I pull conventional but due to some hernia and groin issues had to switch to semi sumo at my last meet. I pulled 524 at 181 but I promise you it wasn't pretty.
