Greetings and a Big Thank You

A long time lurker here and finally decided to step out of the shadows. Two objectives of this introductory post:

1. to avoid flaming if I post somewhere else on this board :-)

2. to give a huge THANK YOU to the experienced and educated members here who contribute such great information.

I am ashamed of what a naive rookie I was before I started reading here. I'll give a little of my info and return you to your Super Bowl.

31 years old, 6', currently 190 lbs, minimum 15% bf (needs work for sure)
Started weight training at around 20. Had no clue what I was doing, didn't know anything about nutrition, saw minimal gains. Got a little educated about food and shot up about 25 pounds in 4 years or so.
I've run two very basic cycles in the past two years (Cyp/Ent @ 500mg/week or so the label said). PCT, the works.
Recently started on TRT. Had documented low test before my first cycle and then I'm sure the cycles didn't help the matter.

Again, a huge thank you to everyone who contributes. I hope to someday but able to give some info back after learning so much.

can you provide me any insight into how your first cycle was because i plan on running the exact same dosing for mine. Like any sides or how much your performance shot up? Also Welcome to the forums :)

First cycle was 12 weeks at 500mg TestE per week split into two doses. Body weight increased by about 20 pounds. 1 rep max bench up by 50 pounds. Took a couple weeks before feeling anything and peaked around 8-10 weeks. I saw improvement in every lift in both weight and endurance. After the cycle and PCT I maintained about 10 pounds increase in body weight and about half of the strength gains.

Sides: Tiny bit of itchy nipples and I started taking 0.5mg every 3 days of anastrozole and that took care of that. Some shoulder acne which could have been from the cycle but I am also prone to acne when I am way exceeding my maintenance calories. (which I was on cycle). This could be considered bad or good but I work in an office environment and had several people comment on my size increase. So be prepared for how you would respond to that.

I thought I was ready for my first cycle. After reading here I now know I wasn't. I rolled the dice and got some vials of test online that luckily contained said hormone. The first time I pinned I went for the glute and that was probably one of the scariest moments of my life. Hands shaking, etc.

you self injected in your glutes? I am also planning on getting glute injections but fortunately my friend is a registered nurse so i won't have to worry about hitting nerve beds or any scary things like that. What was your training like in regards to splits and rep ranges. Im always curious how much the training aspect changes when you get on cycle since you recovery is vastly improved. Also should there be any correlation to days you pin and workout days for example is it better to train on days you inject or day after.

Yep to the glutes. If you lookup online the proper location for intramuscular injection of the glutes (upper, outer quadrant) it is do-able on your own. If you have someone else, even better! I've also tried pinning in the quad but ended up with a stiff, sore leg for a couple days so I stuck with the glutes.

First cycle I went heavy heavy heavy on weight training. Ended up feeling like my joints/tendons were not keeping up with my muscle strength increases and wanted to avoid injury so I backed down on the weight and upped the reps to the 7-10 range. I generally stick to a push/pull/legs split with 20-30 minutes of cardio a couple times a week.

I did not notice any correlation between injection time to peak workout, etc. Some of the more knowledgeable guys may know.

Anyway, make sure you have a good baseline of training under your belt and understand the importance of nutrition and you will get everything you want out of your first cycle. Make sure you do your research and get quality gear/PCT as well.
