Delt Injection Issue

Hi Guys,

I'm currently injecting test suspension. I using 23g needles. I first starting injecting glutes but even with a 1.25 inch needle it doesn't feel deep enough and leaves behind a big lump.

So I switched to delts and loved it, I feel the test absorbed better, was really intramuscular and didnt leave a lump! Of course I didn't stick the full needle length in, that would be too deep for the delts.

However I've been forced to go back to the glutes. Last two weeks each time I tried injecting delts (either side) the needle will only go in a bit n then it hurts like mad, trying to force it in seems madness. When I pull the needle out quite a but if blood trickles out. Am I hitting a vein? On retrospection I think I am trying to inject higher up on the delt than before. But any thoughts on this?

Yea, especially for your delts. Keeps the oil n everything in. But definitely switch needles before ya pin, otherwise you're asking for problems.

Ok final stupid question for you. Should I switch the needle even though I'm using a 23g which seems like a strong needle that easily penetrates the stopper? Secondly my bottles of test suspension are small 5ml vials with thin stoppers.

Any needle is gonna penetrate the stopper pretty easily, but the damage to the needle will still be done regardless. Do ya have the luer lock syringes? Needle and syringe come separately?

There's no need to switch, I just prefer to draw with 21, inject with 23 or 25. Personal preference, it may dull the needle a little, but no real issue.

Yes it's the luer lock syringes. I'm in the uk and I get them free through a programme called needle exchange run through pharmacies

I feel quite a big difference when I switch as opposed to when I don't. Especially delts, the muscle is smaller and a damaged 23g needle feels like a 21g. IMO. I guess it is personal preference, but if he's experiencing pain... might be good reason to change his preference lol

If ya get em for free, all the more reason to switch... I'd get some 21g to draw and then 23 or 25g to inject. Either way, I'd leave the delts alone for a few days, give it time to heal.

You can draw up with whatever gauge size. 18 gauge is the norm. Definitely a good idea to change needle between drawing and injecting. Try lubing up the needle by allowing a drop of oil to run down the needle just before injection. HUGE difference! Slides in nice and smoothly.
Another technique I like to do is, after drawing up the Big Boi Juice, aspirate about a cc to half a cc of air, allow the air bubble to rest behind the oil, e.g. closest to plunger, then inject. The air bubble allows for an airlock and clears needle of residual oil. There is approx. half a cc left of oil in the needle of you don't use the "air lock" method.

Adding to that, 22-25 gauge is the norm size of IMs

Lol, there's not a 1/2 CC of oil left.

Thanks for the tip of allowing a drop of oil to lube the needle. But since I'm using water based test suspension would a drop of that lube the needle?
